A really cozy, home-like, comfortable place! I'll never forget my time here! The breakfast, even if you have to head to it's sister hotel to get it, is amazing! The afternoon tea and cookies is incredible, and absolute must have if you stay here! If you're a cat lover, you will be delighted to hear that Skittles the Cat will be roaming around and acting adorable near the reception and the halls; that was something which I loved and I believe it added a whole lot of charm to the place! We stayed in the floor level rooms and they are pretty good! There are two rooms in this level and the bathroom is outside the rooms, so you might have to share, but in my personal experience, this was not an issue, besides, the hotel provided a lot of bathroom amenities to help make you comfortable and also keep it clean. The rooms themselves are really good, including two soft beds, which were great; a sink with which to wash your face, teeth, and hands; a nice closet and another piece of furniture with eight drawers along with a mirror! The rooms make great use of the space and really make you feel at home, comfortable and ready for rest, so coming back here after a long day of sightseeing made me feel instantly relaxed. If you come to San Francisco, I can totally recommend you stay here! It was a near perfect and very memorable experience, if I ever return, I will make sure to stay here again! Also, I will really miss Skittles once we have to leave!

This hotel was a charming stay for us. Nicely decorated lobby and hotel room, it has a real Bed and Breakfast feel to it. The room has an old fashioned charm to it, and we got a room with its own bathroom, definitely nice. Perfect location to walk to many areas, and catch all the public transportation. The area felt safe at night, as a seasoned traveler. Occasionally I could hear some loud coughing from the room next door, but honestly the rest of the stay was very quiet. The sister hotel on the same block has staff 24/7, so that’s where we checked in and got our bags when we had them hold them on checkout day. We even had an issue with the room at one point early in the morning and the helped us out when we called real fast. Breakfast at the sister hotel is very simple, but nice to have as an option. Good eggs, and we had bacon the first few mornings we were there, but not for the rest of the trip for some reason. Fruit, juice, coffee, cereal, decent options. The absolute highlight of this hotel is Skittles. She is a super friendly, sweet cat. She would follow us every time we walked in the lobby to our room. She slept in our room too most nights. As a cat lover, having her here helped us with not missing our own cat as much. She’s such a unique addition to a hotel stay. We definitely will stay here again next trip for Skittles. We miss her!

We loved this hotel. Rooms are small but not too small, spent 90% of the time exploring anyway. adorable decor, gorgeous elevator, shampoo/cond and shower caps provided. communal fridges/microwave. everything was great! only complaint is one key. most important mention, we LOVED skittles and invited her to our room to snuggle. she was the true concierge. I didn't ask til the end but her toys are in the umbrella holder!

A truly pleasant experience. The historic charm has been lovingly preserved. The cat is friendly. Be sure and observe the dog, cat,bird and mouse in the antique elevator. Great pictures on the walls of the stairway too. It all adds more San Francisco feel to your stay.

Highly recommend!! This is my top choice for any future visit! Pippin the ginger cat on staff is unforgettable, while some of our SF memories have faded this one has not! Be easy to be is greeted, followed to your room and ready for room calls for cuddles! This charming B&B is lovely and the rooms hang onto their 1913 Edwardian charm. It’s a super homely stay and a great location with cable cars readily available if your leg muscles can’t take the hike!
