Union Square Plaza Hotel – 10-Night Stay (11/07/25–11/17/25) Total Paid: $1,255.10 Our stay at this hotel was one of the most disappointing and unnecessarily stressful experiences we've had. To begin with, housekeeping never cleaned our room a single time during our 10-night stay. The only time the housekeepers entered was unannounced while we were asleep, which is a serious safety and privacy concern. But the biggest issue came from a senior staff member, whose behavior was shockingly unprofessional. When we requested a late checkout, this person loudly announced to us that they had “told everyone not to grant you a late checkout,” speaking in a hostile and confrontational tone. As we were packing to leave, they even had housekeeping waiting outside our door, creating an extremely uncomfortable and pressured environment. This wasn’t a misunderstanding — it was deliberate and unnecessary rudeness from someone who clearly should not be in a customer-facing role. It’s unfortunate, because most of the staff were kind. But one person in a position of authority created an atmosphere of hostility that overshadowed the entire stay. Between the lack of housekeeping, the privacy violation, and the dismissive treatment at checkout, I cannot recommend this hotel. Management seriously needs to address how guests are being treated by those representing them.

What a nightmare! It was as though Frank and Charlie’s apartment from Always Sunny had a baby with the Cecil Hotel. No A/C. None of the outlets really worked. We were given nasty dust crusted fans to use to circulate musty stale smelling air. You can open the windows so small children can tumble senselessly out. Stains on the bed and pillows. The bathroom door couldn’t fully open because the bed was too close. Better take your Metamucil and some Febreeze with you if you’re crazy enough to stay. We were originally there for four nights but stayed only one before getting a better hotel.

Room was quite small but had the essentials; mini-fridge, daily room cleaning with towel replacement, and hot water. The area is close by downtown so easy walkable distance. The building itself is old; creeky floors, thin walls, and odd smells. The bed sheets didn't fully cover the bed. The shower has soap and shampoo but recommend you bring your own. There was no heat in the room and the window frame was broken, causing a draft. I had to use the window's latch to prompt up the top frame to keep it from opening. I asked to turn the heat on (one of those old radiator heaters). The man warned me if they turn on the heat, it would be the whole building. Heat was on for one night and next night they turned it off, again in the 50s. Overall: good for a one night emergency stay when all other places are booked up.

Wanna make clear this is a real review. Really good room and service in my opinion. Clean sheets and stuff as well.

This hotel is a basic one. Small hotel without any facility and no Air conditioning. This is a 2 (**) hotel. Our room was not even having view. blocked by another building dirty side. No eatery in the hotel. Only positive is it's location.
