The initial check in went well. The Valet staff was very friendly and helpful. The front desk was also very pleasant. The room was very neat and clean. The bathroom was impressively caulked. While sleeping, the room became very warm because of the energy saver motion sensor thermostat. Breakfast was awful as the buffet scrambled eggs sat in a pool of water. The gravy was thin and the waitstaff and hostess could use a lesson in smiling. Upon departure, the valet pretty much requested a tip. I'm not sure if that is proper etiquette on his part or not, but it was aquard as I thought the additional amount we payed handled their wages. Overall, I would give this Inn a 7 out of 10.

Well for starters, I called a week before we were to arrive, confirming our arrival, which was going to be 12 midnight and make sure everything was paid in full. Mind you, I made the reservation through Expedia, 6 months early..I called the hotel direct, evidently the call went to a main office number; which confirmed that everything was paid in full and thought maybe they would be able to compensate some because we wouldn't be there till the next day! We flew American airlines.. They were an hour late in taking off and our layover was only an hour and 8 minutes! Needless to say we did not make our connection. But American airlines put us up for the night at the Comfort Inn- Radisson affiliated. Which had a nice breakfast and we were shuttled to and back to the airport. I called from the Comfort in that night and explained what was going on, again I was speaking to the main office.!! We finally made it to the Holiday Inn around noon!! Guess what the main office never relayed the messages, but canceled the first night!! Then they had the nerve to tell us they hadn't been paid!@@@ Finally got that figured out. The rooms are nice enough, if you like looking at the tops of buildings. Of course you could have paid much more for the river walk. Which was nice,but it is soooo humid there, plus being use to Oregon weather and riverfront. It's hard to beat. .

After our first hotel near the Riverwalk turned out to be not very nice we rebooked here at the last minute. The staff was very kind and helpful. Our rom was clean and a wonderful view of the city. Parking was pricy but we felt like our car was safe for the duration of our stay and we realize that is part of staying in a downtown area. The access to the riverwalk and the downtown area was worth the entire price of the hotel and parking. We spent two entire days exploring the Riverwalk and surrounding area with no need for a car, witch was a relief after two days of driving.

Cheyenne was great! She was very courteous and professional. Her entire demeanor was excellent all around. I was very impressed by her as it's so hard to come by people like her these days! Thanks Cheyenne for a great experience for my first stay in San Antonio! I'll definitely be back!

I booked 2 rooms using my credit card points. I got home and was reviewing my credit card statement to find out I was charged for the 3 nights I stayed. I called the front desk but they weren’t able to help because the manager wasn’t in that day. I waited a few days and tried calling back, but can’t get anyone to answer the phone. I called guest relations and they also couldn’t help me. They were transferring me to another department and hung up. If you are booking with points of any sort, be sure to check your card statements. Also be aware that they will say they got you river views, but fail to mention they will charge a “windows on the river” fee. You won’t find that out until you check out. I wouldn’t recommend staying here due to customer service.
