S M a month agoWe spent three nights here. The staff was fabulous - Sabrina at the front desk and Alfredo with maintenance, both made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Our room was clean, beds were comfortable, plenty of seating and good options for breakfast. Also a great location, close to lots of restaurants and shopping. We’ll definitely stay again next time we’re in town.
Nichole Alvarez a month agoTo Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment regarding my recent stay at your Holiday Inn Express. The experience was unacceptable from beginning to end and left me feeling ignored, disrespected, and unsafe. First, despite my need for accessible accommodations, I was not provided with a disability-accessible room. Upon checking into my room, I discovered blood on the bed sheets, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness and sanitation. Additionally, basic room amenities such as tissues and other expected supplies were missing. Throughout my stay, I found the regular staff to be rude, dismissive, and unwilling to accommodate reasonable requests. Most concerning was my interaction with the manager, Rosa, who demonstrated a complete lack of compassion and professionalism. The situation escalated when the power went out at the hotel. I was stranded on the second floor in complete darkness with no elevator access, no assistance available, no one answering the phones, and no staff present at the front desk. As a result, I was forced to ask strangers for help carrying my belongings downstairs. This was not only inconvenient but also a serious safety concern, especially given my disability needs. When I requested a refund due to the numerous issues and safety concerns, Rosa was rude, dismissive, and refused any compensation. When I asked for the corporate headquarters phone number, she laughed and stated, “1-800-Holiday.” I found this response incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. I cannot understand how someone who displays such little professionalism and concern for guests is serving in a management position. According to Rosa, she is the only manager at the hotel, which makes this experience even more troubling. As a paying guest, I expected basic cleanliness, accessibility, safety, and respectful customer service. Instead, I was treated as though I was an inconvenience and that my concerns did not matter. I have never been treated so poorly by a hotel staff. I am requesting that this complaint be reviewed by corporate leadership and that appropriate action be taken regarding the conditions and customer service issues described above. I would also appreciate a response regarding my request for compensation given the significant problems I encountered during my stay. Due to this experience, I no longer plan to stay at Holiday Inn Express properties and will be sharing my experience with others. No guest should be treated in the manner that I was.
Dhammike Wimalaratne 3 weeks agoExtremely disappointing check-in experience. We arrived at the hotel around 11:30am, well ahead of the standard 3pm check-in time, which we fully understood. However, over two hours we had tried calling the front desk multiple times and got no response at all. When we finally spoke with the receptionist, she was harsh and raised her voice at us, saying check-in wouldn’t be possible until almost 3pm. We understand the day may genuinely have been hectic and there could have been valid operational reasons, but the way we were treated was completely unacceptable, a 0 out of 10 for customer service. My elder daughter even felt the staff member’s attitude toward us seemed racially motivated. We left and returned just after 3pm, where a different receptionist checked us in and was warm, courteous, and professional, a stark contrast to our earlier experience.
Kara N 7 months agoNot terrible, but not great. They definitely have a roach/bug problem, at least on the first floor. I was greeted by one still kicking when I arrived and found more of them during my week long stay. A bit alarming and gross. I noticed some sticky bug traps under the old AC wall unit. Room smelled a bit damp/mildewy. Staff was friendly though. Breakfast was not as good as other locations, but the lady does a much better job than the gentleman in the mornings. The eggs were like soup. At least she put out the egg and cheese omelets. Potatoes were usually gone or lukewarm. No constant fan option for those of you who need a fan to sleep, they want to save the dime and make us suffer with the AC clicking on and off the whole night. Laundry on site is only one washer and dryer that looked a bit rough. There was plenty of parking and I felt safe, but Shaw Ave is a busy road and divided so be prepared to do some U-turns getting around. Pool and hot tub looked nice but I did not use them. The workout facility was nice and the equipment was in good working order.
Emily Custer 2 months agoI have to give one star for the room due to the refrigerator not working properly. It failed to keep anything cold, and all of our food was warm and ended up being ruined. We are here for a volleyball tournament and will be gone all day, so having that food prepared was essential for my family. As a lower-income single mom, this trip was already a significant financial stretch. I specifically paid extra for a suite with a refrigerator because we needed it, and it did not meet that basic expectation. This was extremely disappointing and added unnecessary stress to an already tight situation.
