This hotel is miserable. I had to beg them 3 days in a row multiple to get fresh towels, blankets and sheets when they assured me they would be refreshed every two days. They provide you with pots but no sponges to clean your dishes. The posts they give you are too big for the tiny stoves in the kitchens. The breakfast is consistently terrible. They stop putting out food before breakfast hours end, so you have to come a lot early to get anything hot. The worst part is the construction. I've been woken up several times. You are better off paying slightly more for basic amenities. The downstairs restaurant was lovely.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Columbus last weekend April 10th-12th, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Upon arrival, we were surprised to walk into what felt like an active construction zone, with dust and debris throughout the property. This was not communicated at the time of booking, and it was far from the experience advertised online. The check-in process only added to the frustration. The gentleman at the front desk was short, unwelcoming, and visibly upset with us for entering through an unlocked back door. He questioned how we got in and stated we were not supposed to use that entrance. The interaction was uncomfortable—so much so that even my 6-year-old asked why he seemed angry with us. While our room appeared newly renovated, it clearly had not been properly cleaned after construction. There were white dusty handprints all over the headboard of the king bed, wood particles along the bathroom floor, and dusty smudges on the kitchen cabinets. For the price I paid, I expected a clean and finished space—not one that still felt under construction. To make matters worse, we were in town for my daughter’s softball tournament and returned to the hotel around 6 p.m. after a long day at the fields, only to find that there was no hot water available—and it wouldn’t be restored until 11 p.m. Not being able to shower after a full day of activities was extremely frustrating, especially on a Saturday evening. Overall, I am very disappointed in this stay, and even more so considering the cost. Transparency about ongoing renovations and better attention to cleanliness and guest experience would go a long way. The only positive note I can share is that the gentleman working the desk at checkout, Sterling, was incredibly kind and welcoming—a bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience.

This hotel is in a really great location — close to everything and super convenient. The rooms are large, very clean, and overall comfortable. The lobby is probably the coolest part of the place; it’s an old bank and they really kept that classic look. It’s gorgeous, though a bit on the dark side. Right now there’s a ton of construction going on, which makes things a little messy and inconvenient. The fitness room isn’t available at the moment, but they give you a temporary pass to a gym down the block, which is nice. Parking is honestly a pain unless you use their valet, which is $40 a night. The problem is, the valet attendant wasn’t around half the time, so I ended up parking around the block myself. Breakfast was a bit disappointing — pretty basic and not what I’d expect from a downtown hotel. On the bright side, the bar in the lobby has a great vibe and is a nice place to hang out. Staff has been friendly and accommodating, and overall I’d definitely come back once all the renovations are done to see how it really turns out. The place has a ton of potential and the location alone makes it worth another try.

Love this place! Second weekend in a row here. Staff is so friendly and room up to date. Construction around the area is terrible but definitely not the fault of the hotel. Valet is fast. Definitely recommend!!

Residence Inn by Marriott updates are wonderful. The completely remodeled rooms are beautiful, well appointed, and have a very upscale feel at a reasonable price. Staff professional and friendly. This historic location is very convenient to all things downtown Columbus and only 1 block from the Ohio Statehouse. Be sure to stop by the first floor’s amazing Buckeye Bourbon House to grab a beverage and food. Tons of nearby restaurants for a fun night out. If you’re reading this, please hit that Like❤️
