Stephanie Guadalupe 3 weeks agoBefore booking you must know although this is a "hotel" it runs like an AIRBNB. You have to be on the lookout for messages (not emails) from the site for the pin to enter your bedroom and the building itself as well as to arrange parking accomodations. In regards to said parking, it's a nightmare. They have some sort of deal with the Marriot across the street for access to their lot for an additional $15 a night HOWEVER the Marriot seems to overfill their lots because their lot was full and I was forced to find on-street parking even after purchasing the pass earlier in the morning. So there went $15 down the drain. The room itself was for the most part clean, upon walking in I could smell that they had cleaned which is a great plus, HOWEVER, the rug underneath the bed was FILTHY. I mean you walk on it a bit barefoot and your feet have turned black and there is a lot of debris stuck on to it that will stick to the soles of your feet. They really should remove those horrid things if they can't be steamed or washed on a regular basis. Their front desk is also not on site for the majority of the day. They state you can contact the front desk between 7A-6PM however they aren't on site until 10A so any and all concerns you have they will tell you to wait until they are on the site. For that matter I would give this place a very solid 3 out 5. They make sure to wipe surfaces and hardwood floors before your arrival, and the bed did seem bedbug free upon inspection. Downside is the rugs they have across the room that don't seem to be cleaned on a regular basis. Front desk isn't on site or available for majority of the day, and their hours of operation don't match the hours they can actually help you. And that parking pass well, the Marriot must sell it to half the town because the lot is always full. All in all, if you don't require access to front desk or need parking, this could still be a good option, for me, I don't think I'd book again.
B Rock a month agoHad a wonderful stay for two nights. Great location with clean comfortable rooms with plenty of space. Tracy and staff were wonderful to work with. Sunday, we had a Long Beach Baseball game to attend before flying out and were happy to keep our bags locked in the office. Highly recommend!
Deb Cory 3 months agoThere is plenty to like here. The room we had was big. I appreciate that it is heritage but would have loved a cabinet or shelf in the bathroom other than the window sill. That's not a biggie tho. Be prepared to lug your bags up the stairs. There was free parking outside from 6pm to 8am which could work if its available but the parking option at another hotel nearby works too
Randy Bacigalupo 4 months agoUnique building and not far to walk to the beach. Our room was not made when we arrived at 9pm. No one is on site and making a phone call was not quick. We got an upgrade to a large suite. All the amenities you need are provided but building is OLD and lots of room for maintenance, especially lamps/furniture. Bathrooms decent and I enjoyed showering with an open window on the third floor and was able to watch several cops track down a crazy person on the empty morning streets (which I suspect is common here). Very loud street noise at night with lots of racing. Bring ear plugs. Coffee = horrible. Decent value for money.
mimijj a month agoSTAY AWAY! the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had, EVER! i want to give ZERO stars. the reason, very simple - we weren’t able to check in nor stay with a prepaid reservation. there is NO indication in our reservation confirmation that some access code was required for late check-in or building entry. when we called the number posted on the locked door, we were provided an after-hour number to text. we texted and called, no answer whatsoever, multiple tries. this was close to 10pm so not that late for the urgent line to be sleeping. it’s just unacceptable. the best western a block away saved us. the staff there said this happens a lot with the metropolitan. NEVER book here, super shady business.
