Had a great stay at Hotel Royal. If you’re looking for a modern luxury hotel, this probably isn’t it—but that’s part of its charm. The building has a lot of character and an old-school feel that made the stay unique. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and exactly what we needed for our trip. The location was excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, it was a really cool experience staying in a historic building, and I’d definitely consider staying here again when visiting Long Beach.

booked this lovely room last minute. Great host at the front, I believe Tristan....very helpful and kind. Room had a wonderful king size bed, quiet for being in downtown Long Beach, near a favorite speak easy as well. The floors were wonderfully painted and finished. The bathroom was perfect after a long hot day in the sun. The Tv and free coffee and water bottles a nice touch. We will definitely be coming back to stay in the future. We didn't get a chance to use the communal kitchen, but plan to next time.

What an excellent little hotel!!! Jose and the lady at the front desk were wonderful, incredibly friendly and accommodating! The place is cute and comfortable, with free waters, bathing equipment, WiFi and streaming services!!! A friendly heads up that parking cost 25$. Overall a great place at the value of a 5* hotel, with the price of a motel!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Royal for the most part. We decided to giet it a try because we do like boutique hotels and their individual personalities. Pros: We loved the community kitchen; great place to relax, enjoy our morning coffee and say hi to other guests Thumbs up to the complimentary bottled water and use of technology. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was sparse but clean. Price was affordable, especially for Long Beach in April. And location is close to restaurants and attractions. Cons: Room was sparse, with only three hangers and no closet. Shower took about five minutes for hot water to arrive, and the pressure was abysmal. Hallway stairs needed a good deep cleaning. Noise at night after the bars closed was incredibly loud, although I can't knock the hotel for that. Would we stay there again on our next visit to LB? Good question. Probably if we were in the main building the next time.

Nice quaint hotel at an excellent price. The staff member at the front desk was friendly. The room was clean and cute. The AC in the room blows super cold, there was also a fan. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, I slept like a baby. The shower is a single person shower and takes a few minutes to heat up, but was no issue for us. The parking is sketchy but it’s downtown so you typically have homeless people walking around in most downtown areas. Forewarning - this is a very small room, which I would gladly sacrifice again for the price and cleanliness, and it was super cute. It met our needs and the price couldn’t be beat! Ive already scheduled another visit next month. I’ve read some of the other reviews - yes there are stairs, the stairs are in no way narrow, they are a good size, there’s only 2 flights of stairs which posed no problem for us. If you can’t climb 2 flights of stairs without complaining you have bigger issues that you need to address!
