So right off the bat I feel like this area was abit of an issue for Lyft to arrive not sure if it was the signal but it took me an hour to get an uber for some odd reason. Second I feel like front desk was gossiping with employees I don’t think that’s professional I felt abit like weird energy like rude from some of the girls working not all but some . Lastly I feel like the location looks luxurious it doesn’t look like photo looks smaller but I won’t be staying here next time I feel like it was alright but not the greatest . Forgot make sure they don’t put ur room near the elevator u can hear tons of cars smells off and also sucks that security does not work over night

I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world, and I can say without hesitation—this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had, and it all started with the front desk team at the Residence Inn Long Beach Downtown/Queensway. Ashley M., Diana G., and Joanne M. didn’t just welcome us—they set the tone for the entire stay in a way that’s incredibly rare. From the moment we walked through the doors, their warmth was genuine, their smiles were effortless, and their hospitality felt personal, not scripted. It was the kind of reception that immediately puts you at ease after a long day of travel—you feel seen, appreciated, and truly taken care of. They went out of their way—consistently—to make sure we were comfortable, informed, and enjoying ourselves. Every interaction felt like we were coming home, not just returning to a hotel. That level of care and pride in service is something you don’t come across often anymore. I’ve stayed at many great properties across the country and internationally, but what sets this one apart is people like Ashley M., Diana G., and Joanne M. They are the reason this stay stands out as one of the very best. If management is reading this—these three are exceptional. Recognize them, keep them, and take care of them—they are the heart of your operation. We’ll absolutely be back, and it’s because of them.

Our party of 4 stayed for 2 nights in 2 rooms, pre Princess cruise. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. We had a nice harbor view but being on the 4th floor the bridge blocked our views of the Queen Mary. If you want to see her from your room, ask for a higher floor. My only bummer was lack of water in the lobby.. they tried to keep the pitcher full but it was constantly empty because people filled their water bottles and drained the pitchers. A water bottle filling station would have been great! I searched for one and found a water fountain but not with a bottle filler. I also wished for 24 hour coffee/tea in the lobby. I always think that is such a nice touch. We could have made it in our rooms but when sitting in the lobby it's nice to have that option right there. The location was fine, close to both cruise ports but there was no food around really so we had to uber over the bridge. It was also noisy at night when small boats were blaring their music as they came back to the marina. Nothing the hotel can do about that but if you're sensitive to noise it's something watch out for.

Front desk was not as friendly like other Marriott properties and the rooms are lacking the ability to charge USB items unless you bring your own block plug-in. Additionally, no ice machines, it's great you can make your own ice in the rooms but they are empty until you make your own ( took about 3-4 hrs to drop ice). Location is good for the cruise terminals.

We stayed at this location recently after returning from our cruise. The hotel was clean and in great condition. The staff were very friendly and customer orientated. Check-in time was 4pm and check-out time was noon. The hotel had a breakfast supplied each morning with fresh items and was very well stocked. The location is in close proximity to where Carnival Cruise lines docks, and is a very short ride with Lyft. The closest restaurants are on the north side of the Los Angeles River near the Pikes Outlet mall. About a 20-25 minute walk. For anyone with a car, parking is $42/day - which in my opinion should be included if you are staying at the hotel.
