Quite shocked at the good reviews this hotel got. I guess people are not bothered by dirt to give such high reviews? Where to start… bathroom smells like pee constantly. Looked around the toilet and noticed they only superficially clean the toilet bowl but not around the toilet. There’s caked up pee or something on the side/bottom of the toilet bowl that smells atrocious (see pictures). Shower is moldy and does not drain properly. By the time you’re done showering the water is standing to your ankles. The walls, curtains, chairs are all disgustingly dirty. No one washes these. The patio windows have not been washed for months. The front door was our first clue this would be a dirty room/hotel. There is dirt, finger prints, looks like food all over the front door as you enter the room. As the saying goes… “the front door to a restaurant (in this case room) tells you a lot about how clean the place will be.” Okkk, next, the dirty room was bad enough, but, the windows are made of paper. You hear everything and I mean everything thru these windows. The worst part is when you’re trying to sleep at night. You hear cars, trucks, loud music, constant car horns, people talking, people screaming, yelling, loud bangs, cars with loud music blasting, the wind blowing, garbage trucks banging very early morning hours, it’s impossible to sleep. Horrible! Very very disappointing experience. You people have a lot of work to do! This place is a mess!

The Pacific Monarch was fantastic. Right on Kuhio Street, just two blocks from the beach and two blocks from the International Marketplace, made it perfectly located in Waikiki. It was also right across the street from a public bus stop, making it extremely convenient for us. Our room was excellent with a large, sitting balcony with a partial ocean view, a living room/kitchenette, and separate bedroom, also with balcony access. The hotel had beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas for free and desk staff were helpful and friendly. Only issue was the new construction going on next door that was pretty loud during the day, but nothing the Pacific Monarch can do about that, and it's only temporary. Would absolutely stay here again. Loved it.

It’s a very good hotel, close to the beach. They give you beach towels and chairs. The rooms are equipped with small kitchen, stove, fridge, and microwave. They have a grill on the roof. The location is perfect, close to everything. The food and coffee options are abundant within the same block.

While I saw reviews about how rooms struggle to keep cool, it is true there is only one ac unit at the ground level. But our room kept cool and we only kept the bedroom fan on low. The best thing about staying here are the one bedroom ocean view rooms. All rooms have good views, especially the higher the floor. Our ocean view was on the 17th floor. 2nd= Full kitchens with full refrigerators/freeezers!! We stayed at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel and they had tiny "coolers ' which our food went bad. Here you can cook, microwave items, and stock up. And each unit is stocked with everything you need to cook, drink, and eat with. 3rd=The Large bedroom balconies with two doors!! Great to see city and ocean views as the 1 bedrooms are corner units. 4th The top floor hang out with large windows to have sweeping views of the mountains day and night. 5th the Rooftop Pool. Small but also grills up here to cook!!! And the entire staff was always nice and did all they could to keep folks happy. The decor may not be super modern but who cares? These are apartments and we loved the homely feel!!! Just Awesome overall. All I would say is that the pillows are ok but not super comfy. And only a block from the beach!!! Chairs and towels are available to use!! After being at high end hotels my two trips here, I will only stay here now. The value of all you get is that good!! Mahalo!! Until winter 2027!!!

I personally have no complaints about my stay here. They are in the middle of doing improvements. What I liked a lot is that after we checked out, they kept our bags and we were allowed to use the pool shower and pool towel as our flight was late in the evening. Much appreciated.
