Always a great stay at the Equus. Staff are friendly and kind. Ms.Renee checked us in again and quickly recognized my wife and I. She has that Aloha Spirit emanating from her and you can feel her great energy. Bar staff, Aneta, Yulia, and Matt are awesome people to just sit and have a cocktail or coffee and talk. Did I mention the Equus offers guests two complimentary cocktail? It's delish and Matt makes the BEST MAITAI!! Think I'm lying? Swing by and test it yourself! I think this maybe the only hotel that has a designated smoking area for guests. I know this maybe frowned upon, but nonetheless THANK YOU for us smoker's. Parking is limited so first come, first serve basis. They do have an over flow for parking but it's adjacent to the building in the back. On that note, Than you once again and can't wait for our next trip back. Tee&Law

The people who run the front were absolutely amazing! Very friendly and accommodating and Even quite understanding. I admit after 13.5 hours of flying then getting a rental car family wants to argue over plans I set months ago. I was over it! The young lady at the front was very understanding and extremely friendly. I had gotten a king suite which had a balcony. While I elected not to have a water view I had a balcony that was high enough in the trees I could sit out of view for most others, and was able to admire the beautiful birds Hawaii has to offer. It truly felt like home for the week we were there. I am greatly appreciative of all the staff at the Equus. Also very close to many attractions, dining, the beach and all that water has to offer. Shopping malls, corner store also within walking distance.

I’m surprised by the recent reviews, I stayed here about a month ago and had a great experience! The room was nice and clean, and the service was great. The bar was nice too. I’ll definitely stay here again in the future.

I was pleasantly surprised by the value offered here. The location, staff, cleanliness, and bar are all A+. Obviously, the low price point is attractive, but could also raise questions. Truthfully, if you're taking your dream vacation to Hawaii and you want a fancy resort, you should pay 2x-3x for one of the big hotels on the water. But for a nice, friendly joint (the front desk is literally a desk with a person sitting behind it), and a comfy bed to sleep in between all your activities, this is the best deal.

We stayed here during a family trip. The local lady at the front desk welcomed us so warmly and kindly that we immediately felt relaxed. The room was clean, had no odors, and was very comfortable to stay in. She recommended a poke bowl shop, and it was by far the best poke bowl we’ve ever had. We ended up eating it several times during our stay. Honestly, it was much better—and much cheaper—than the ones at restaurants or famous cafés. We would definitely love to stay here again the next time we visit Honolulu. I hope we’ll get to see her again.
