Manny at the front desk provided great service while we visited. Not a resort. Our booking method had the resort fee waived. More like a no frills hotel room. 4* is the price-adjusted rating. Pros: Complementary beach towels. Air conditioner works very well. Plenty of warm and hot water. Water refill station near the front desk provides great water. Mini-fridge in the room. Con: bathroom lacked a fan.

I am writing to formally communicate my profound dissatisfaction with a recent hotel stay, which regrettably fell far below any reasonable expectation of hospitality and comfort. From the outset, it became clear that the establishment does not prioritize guest comfort or provide value commensurate with its rates. The overall condition of the property is noticeably antiquated and appears to be in dire need of significant renovation and modernization. Individuals accustomed to a certain standard of accommodation will likely find the current offerings unsatisfactory. My allocated accommodation presented a multitude of concerning issues. A distinct and pervasive unpleasant odor permeated the room upon entry. Furthermore, the cleanliness standards were alarmingly low; the kitchen appliances, specifically the stove in the suite, exhibited considerable grime and lack of proper sanitation. Most disturbingly, I encountered evidence of pest infestation, including various insects such as spiders, ants, and suspected bed bugs, which is an utterly unacceptable condition for any lodging facility. Attempts to address these critical deficiencies with the management team proved largely ineffective. Despite being moved to several different rooms, the fundamental problems persisted, indicating systemic issues rather than isolated incidents. This lack of resolution further exacerbated an already distressing situation and reflected a concerning inability to provide a satisfactory guest experience. In summary, the pervasive issues with cleanliness, maintenance, pest control, and the inadequacy of staff response profoundly undermined the potential for a comfortable or enjoyable experience. I feel compelled to advise against future bookings at this location, as it is highly probable that guests will encounter similar disappointments that significantly detract from their travel plans.

All you who are choosing the lower price options on Priceline, Expedia, etc, you’re not getting a deal here. You’re going to get remodeled room that’s had two years of use since the refurbishment, and that seems like it was motel quality furnishings. It’s budget, and if you want struggle travelling, and can stand motels without getting creeped out, than this is the place for you. The pool and sauna is sad, it shouldn’t exist. Nice people tho!!!!!

I stayed at the Waikiki Malia October 2025. It was moderately priced and the hotel is decent. The customer service was amazing. I even had a situation where guest checked in that were outrageously loud for hours in the late evening and they managed the situation immediately I was very pleased. This was a great location to walk to many things, including the beach what it lacks in amenities it gains in location. Location is everything. I will happily stay here again when I return in October 2026.

I stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days. I have positive experience during my stay. The Hotel is very clean and very convenient to most of the stores and restaurants. Walking distance from Waikiki beach. Amazing, courteous, helpful, and professional staff. Restaurants are everywhere from the hotel if you want to explore food. There are bars nearby as well. Car park is available within the hotel with fees. They offer free coffee early in the morning. I will definitely comeback and stay here whenever I am in Honolulu!
