We stayed at Aloft this past weekend for Chicago GO Fest 2026, and the experience was unparalleled. The location is great and in close proximity to Grant Park & Cloud Gate, offering a way to access great sights and is within a few miles walk from the Field Museum. The walk is a great split between the inner city (first half mile) and the larger city & Lake Michigan once you pass East Randolph St. & North Michigan Ave (depending on which way you go, if traveling to the Museum or Grant Park / Art Insititute). The staff were friendly, courteous, and very helpful. This goes for both the service staff of the hotel as well as the gentlemen working the valet. The security feels good past the front door & reception, as you require a key to access the elevators to the rooms and it can only access your designated floor, along with the third floor (service & ice) and the nineteenth floor (pool & ice). The rooms are well kempt and they offer a regular room service every other day, but you have an option to call or walk down to the front desk and they happily accommodate any additional needs generally at no charge (but I would always ask first)! Valet is $65/night with their service, and they take great care of the vehicle. You get 3 free in-and-outs (we did get up to 3, but only used 1 while in the city before check-out), but that may be subject to time of year/number of guests. The design is minimalist, which is nice, so it isn't overwhelming to the eye and senses, and the downstairs is an open air atmosphere with a bar, pool table, and snack bar that doubles as a breakfast kitchen in the morning. I would note, the items are of cost outside of the complimentary water and coffee, which is good, but if you are looking for more there is a charge that you can apply to the room or a card (there is a separate hold from the incidentals when you charge a card, that they do make you aware of that falls off the statement, so it is just a temporary hold to verify funds). I stayed with my cousins and my eight-year-old son, and the experience was beyond better than we expected. This was a wonderful trip and I would consider staying here again if we were to return for a future event. I would recommend Aloft to anyone who is familiar with the Marriot Bonvoy Select stay options - this is a great option if you haven't considered it before. The price is reasonable and was more than affordable compared to other local options for the same length of stay. I would say the value is very good in relation to the price, location, and services. Every problem is an opportunity, and the staff here epitomize that maxim. We had a string of issues with the room related to shades, HVAC bathroom door, lights. Took a list to the desk. Within 30min, engineering arrived and took care of everything, rendering the room perfect. These are loft rooms, so bare concrete ceilings are the norm and it's like small loft apartments in terms of style. Impossible to beat the location with Cava and Sweet Mandy Bs bakery literally across the street. Our second time here, and as long as the senior management stays the same we will keep coming back. All staff seem capable and content.

I stayed here for three nights in June, and while the location is excellent and the hotel itself was clean, it is absolutely not worth the $400/night price tag. The Cons: • Poor Service: Front desk staff were unpleasant. • Room Issues: The room had an odd unfinished concrete ceiling, minimal storage, and no closet for outerwear. The window blinds had visible yellow stains. • Bathroom Flaws: Terrible lighting for makeup, and the sliding door has no handle (just a hole), making it very difficult to slide open. Lack of Maintenance: Our room phone was broken, meaning I had to walk to the lobby multiple times to get towels. I also got stuck mid-shower because the body wash and conditioner dispensers were completely empty.

Perfect location for walking to various restaurants, shopping, and experiences. Valet staff was amazing and handled our car perfectly. Front desk staff was polite and helpful. Kitchen staff were super friendly and cheerful during breakfast hours. Housekeeping always said Hi to us in the hallway. Pool was a bit cold, but my kids didn't mind. They kept it stocked with clean towels really well considering how many people were using it due to spring break.

The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were clean. I was disappointed only in the pool table cues being broken and the tips destroyed. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but I didn't choose to stay at a Motel 6 where broken items might be expected. The staff from the front desk to housekeeping were wonderful, pleasant and helpful. The security personnel was visible and helpful to many guests. I will definitely return!
