It was remodeled but looked cheaply done. Im not sure why me and my boyfriends bathroom had the toilet paper over our left shoulder (just a weird spot). However, gorgeous hallways, and lobby. Staff were super nice. Bell hop was really friendly and helpful. A heads up, in order to get to your room or a friends room using the elevator, you need a (your) room key.

The rooms were very spacious and I liked that but the queen beds were definitely not a queen size which we ordered, they were probably closer to a full size. The breakfast was amazing it took under 30 minutes and the pancakes were the best ones I've ever had. 😋 the location was okay but you know, it's downtown Chicago so... but overall it had really amazing history and it has a starbucks in the hotel too.

Palmer House deserves 5 stars for its atmosphere and surroundings. I went there for lunch on Monday while playing tourist in my own city. The hotel was busy, but my server was excellent—truly outstanding considering how many tables she was handling. I had the Lockwood burger and fries, both of which were excellent. My only complaint is that the famous Palmer House brownie (which I took to go) did not live up to its reputation as the original brownie—or at least the one I received didn’t. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t nearly as memorable as the hotel itself. That said, the overall experience was terrific, and I would gladly return for lunch and to enjoy the beautiful historic surroundings.

When my husband and I arrived the hotel, it was already very late like passed 9pm, but Dustin helped our check-in so nicely. Although he kindly checked there are no room upgrade availability for my Hilton diamond status, he provided us extra waters that we greatly needed. He even gave us a good note of all facilities here and other benefits. We felt so welcomed and it really made our day.
