Our experience at The Truitt was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The hotel itself is incredibly unique, cozy, and beautifully designed — every detail feels thoughtful, intentional, and full of character. It strikes that perfect balance between historic charm and elevated comfort. What truly made the experience exceptional, though, were the innkeepers, Ryan and David. They were beyond welcoming and made us feel instantly at home. Their hospitality elevated the entire stay and added such a personal touch that’s hard to find elsewhere. If you’re looking for a place in Kansas City that feels special, intimate, and beautifully curated, this is it. We can’t wait to return and would recommend The Truitt without hesitation.

This was our 2nd time staying at a property owned by Ryan and David. They have both been amazing stays. The room and the grounds were beautiful! We stayed in the carriage house this time. We loved how secluded it felt. We didn't worry about parking at all and we felt safe with the location. We will definitely be returning in the near future!

As someone who is not a fan of hotels this place has been amazing. The nice quiet neighborhood, easy check ins and unique rooms make me feel more at home than any of the chain or luxury hotels in KC. Great communication and great nights sleep (my wife liked the bed so much we replaced our mattress and bedding after the last trip). Thanks guys.

We LOVED this boutique hotel in the heart of historic KC. Our room (2C) was impeccably decorated, clean, and cozy. The surrounding neighborhood is stunning, it’s a 5 minute walk from the Nelson-Atkins museum, a 5 minute drive to the Uptown Theater, and there’s lots of good food nearby. My only complaint is that we didn’t stay longer. We will definitely come back next time we’re in KC.

This was our third time at the Truitt and it was as wonderful as the first 2 visits. This definitely has become our go to when we visit KC. Quiet, secluded and very private. The one bedroom suite is like having your own apartment oasis. Would give it more stars in the rating if I could!!
