Joey Vegas a month agoJust got married in Vegas. Stayed 4 nights at Circa actually getting married at the Plaza chapel right across the street and my wife loves Circa. Drove to California for a week then back to Vegas for a few more days where we stayed at El Cortez. My wife’s first time staying there. I’ve been there a few times. Customer experience was amazing booking my room and checking in. The only thing was we had a room in the older level with the gangster mob feel which was awesome. We love stuff like that but… No elevator to the floor 3 levels up. I didn’t realize this and we had a lot of luggage for our 2 week stay and to make it worse I recently broke a rib so carrying stuff was difficult. They had their bell hop bring all of our luggage up the stairs to our room and back down when we checked out. Thank you. Room was very cozy, clean and pretty quiet. Even better than my previous stay. Bed was huge with comfortable pillows. Price was good for what we got along with the discount coupons for food and drink. Had a great stay and will stay again.
Joe Lipinski 2 weeks agoUsed to be one of my favorites. Like most other casinos, it is transitioning away from live table games and good VP to more flashy and modern (and crappy) slot machines. Has a clean look. It has a fairly decent players club.
Bella Joy a month agoThis is an old review, which I kindly documented and posted on Youtube when it happened.... But please allow me to provide a little CONTEXT to the ENGRAGED and ANGRY video I posted a couple years back. I went to this hotel, early one Tuesday morning. I had booked an online reservation for a Tuesday through Thursday stay, but due to the heat of the night, we opted to arrive on property at approximately 0300. Very clearly a TUESDAY. When I arrived, I parked my travel companion outside on a bench with our luggage as I checked us in. When I went to check in, there were technical issues with the booking, which the overnight clerk was not able to override due to needing a manager. Very lovely and kind lady. Tried her best to troubleshoot the issue. At 0300, after an entire day of working and filming, I was beyond exhausted and wanted to get my travel companion/artist into his room so that he could shower, relax and sleep and then retire to mine before we reviewed the property. The entire checkin process took WAY too long. I had to check on my travel companion several times, as he looked like he came "North of the Wall" in the middle of June...but that's what you get when you work with Artists! You respect their process. However, I did this due to my concerns of his outwardly appearance. However, we were able to get checked-in. Were given our room keys, which are bracelets (brilliant idea - I'll give them that!) and were on our way, with the bell cart full of our luggage up to our room. We travelled from the front driveway, through the main entrance, through the casino floor, waited for our elevators, got into the elevators, exited the elevators and made our way to our rooms. Unfortunately, we went left instead of right. As we got turned around, a security manager came into the area and cut off my travel companion. He then was immediately aggressive with him and was demanding identification and room key. I immediately snapped around advised the WONDERFUL SECURITY MANAGER (you were in a button-up bro - way to be caught sleeping on the job yo) that he was a guest of mine and we were on our way to our rooms and he could leave. Let me say something - No thank you. Even now, the disrespect of this behavior, discrimination and HOSTILITY rather than HOSPITALITY was the EXACT REASON why Las Vegas is falling short anymore. The proceeding events show exactly the extractive mindset that has taken hold of the valley and hospitality industry. Now - the thought - who is this woman? Sounds like some uppity out-of-town Hollywood agent being over-the-top...uhm...NOPE. Generationally born and raised...in a hospitality family my friends. So while Mr. Night Security Manager was napping away, the proceeding Hotel Manager that was "unable" to adjust my reservation and just charge me an early-check-in fee rather than taking my reservation from a Tuesday-Thursday to a Monday - Wednesday and then charged MY DAD'S credit card WITHOUT PERMISSION for the extra day and then 86 us off property when we refused to go to the hospital and wasted your time? Mr. Head of Security who kicked me out as I was reporting the extremely professional conduct of your night security guard? I spent the summer of 2024 backpacking around Downtown because it's the heartbeat of home. Man - our heartbeat died and has been sold out to transplanted hearts, that do not truly care for our community, but rather what Lady Luck can provide. Being one of the last family owned properties - I understand and see why the property is the way it is. The transplants forgot the families and from one grumpy family member to another - I get it..but maybe let's do better? I mean - how do you have "Cabana Suites" and don't have water?!?!?! uh...seriously?! This property is fun though. I did originally start my journey here for a reason. It starts at the bottom of the "Original Strip" and has such a fun story to tell. Did you know Las Vegas has its own Abbey Road?! Yupp!! Can you find it on this property?! Until next time! Xoxo - B
Kara Christiansen 2 months agoWe went to Las Vegas for one night during our honeymoon road trip just to see the sights. After finding out that most of the big hotels have a 2-night minimum on the weekends, we went to El Cortez and it was perfect. Great location right on Fremont St, no need to uber anywhere. Right across the street there is a container park (fire mantis!) with music and a billiards spot with shows. The price was good for us; we stayed in a smoking room that was clean and did not smell. After a stroll up and down Fremont St. we hung out in the casino at El Cortez, we are not gamblers, just wanted to try the old slot machines for nostalgia, I guess. The hotel gave us a free drink, a few dollars gambling credit and a discount on the restaurant which we did use. It requires you to go to the customer service counter and get a card to get the drink, easy to do. Staff was very nice, answered all our questions courteously and even complimented our outfits! Easy parking and elevator access to the rooms, car and casino. Good choice if you do not need frills or themes and want a more authentic Las Vegas experience.
Alex Blake 2 months agoEl Cortez was one of my favorite spots the whole trip. I had the best luck on their tables, so I might be a little biased, but the vibe here is hard to beat. It has that antique, old school Vegas feel that actually feels timeless, not outdated. I even got my haircut at their speakeasy barbershop, twice. Wedding week priorities. Cool experience and they did a great job. Being right on Fremont makes it super easy to walk to everything, which is a huge plus. If you are into classic Vegas with character, this place delivers.
