Many thanks to the wonderful team at the TownePlace Suites Albuquerque North. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast options are a real plus, but what truly sets this hotel apart is the people. Every member of the staff was approachable, welcoming and genuinely kind. A special thank you to Christian, who made a very late-night check-in easy and stress-free after a long day of travel. Highly recommended.

The 2 bedroom suites have basics and was a fair price! Staff was very friendly. Only downside is the laundry detergent/machines made our clothes smell so bad and didn't feel clean so would not recommend using them! But overall would stay again!

Personal travel for a funeral, but working remotely during. The TownePlace Suites North by Marriott is where a number of my extended family members stayed for a funeral gathering. All were in agreement that the hotel was somewhat “meh” and overall we won’t plan to stay here again, despite many anticipated returns to ABQ(where we’re all from) in the future. High points: Beds were comfy and bedding clean and nice Rooms are as advertised with a functional kitchenette. Front desk folks were both pleasant and helpful, willing to go an extra mile. Less than high points: The location is not great. For some, being in the middle of a new entertainment development might be nice. But you’re really not near anything - downtown, Old Town, the botanical gardens/zoo, etc. I’m not a fan of big box/same in every city eats, especially in an amazing foodie town like ABQ. Hats off to a Marriott that tries to minimize environmental impact due to frivolous cup packaging in the gym - single cups without wrappers is a great start. Better yet will be when Marriott goes to byo-water bottle or simple drinking fountains. The gym itself is sub par. Two treadmills (one w working tv monitor), two ellipticals, some weights, no views, one cockroach. Was hoping to run outdoors in the lovely desert weather, but you’re really not near any decent, reasonably lit, or non-concrete trails. The gym doesn’t do justice to the running that could have been. Side note: if you’re willing to run longer, can head up Academy and run around ABQ Academy or Arroyo del Oso, but your looking at 6-7mi at a minimum. Not bad but also not for most folks. WiFi was nonfunctional, see image. The best I ever got was a spinner, “trying to connect”. Ended up using my phone’s hot spot instead all weekend. Easy fix, big bummer. Summary: you won’t regret staying here, but you probably won’t return. Need a room and stressing that you didn’t prep better for the evening? You’ll be fine here. Otherwise I’d probably look for something better situated. Hotel ABQ or similar.

I stay here often, beds are comfortable, staff is always nice, and there are a ton of options for food nearby. My only real complaint are the TVs, they are tiny, picture quality is bad and often have weird bright spots, but who watches TV.

My mom and I stayed for International Ballon Fiesta for 6 days. When we checked in, the front desk receptionist was extremely friendly and nice. However, our stay did not remain consistent with the initial greeting we received. First, we noticed a musky and odd aroma, which was very pungent in the room. We hoped this aroma would dissipate once the air conditioning started to run, but the smell lingered. By the third night, we realized that the smell could be mold that was growing under the carpet, as we were getting symptoms of mold exposure. We have also been experiencing mold exposure symptoms such as constant sneezing, runny noses, bloody noses, headaches. Regardless of the thermostat being set, the room struggled to stay at the “set temperature”. Second, the nightstand dresser in between the two queen beds WAS NOT anchored to the wall, and the drawers were uneven. This caused the dresser to fall on my mom when she opened the two top drawers. It caused 2 bruises to form on her arm. This is HUGE SAFETY hazard to ALL customers!!!! Can you imagine if this fell on someone’s child?! It is dangerous for ANY PERSON (both workers and customers). Third, there were carpet tacks sticking out and exposed on the edge of the carpet. It pierced through my mom’s toe. AGAIN, another HUGE HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARD to customers. Fourth, there was hair underneath the pillow closest to the headboard. It was obvious that the cleaning was not conducted in a way that we are accustomed to for any Marriott hotels and affiliates. We also found multiple “wads of hair” in the corners of the room. Lastly, which is the most DISAPPOINTING and upsetting aspect of our experience, was the dismissive attitude from the General Manager and Hotel Engineer. Neither apologized for any of the bad experiences, and they did not offer any type of resolution. Instead, they stated that this was not their problem, because they “don’t stay in the rooms” and “no one ever complained before”. When I asked if their business practice was to only fix problems AFTER customers get injured, their reply was “there isn’t anything we can do unless someone complains”. When I told them I was going to escalate this issue because their response was unacceptable, I was told that it was “pointless” because it won’t change anything. The manager also stated that they aren’t required to follow Marriott standards. Our family has been Chairman Club and Titanium Elite Marriott members for many years, and we have never been this dismissed over HEALTH and SAFETY issues. This is beyond disgusting and disgraceful behavior of the management staff, as well as oversight by the Marriott chain. We will NEVER stay in this hotel again, and we DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone to stay at this hotel. CAUTION TO ANYONE: You will pay Marriott Marquis prices but receive Motel 8 service. This hotel appears to be in clear OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and BBB (Better Business Bureau) violations. We plan on filing complaints with both organizations to ensure future guests (and employees) are not at risk of health and safety violations (which are clearly being ignored by management).
