The room a/c was not working. It’s still fairly cool out, but this would be an issue in a month or during the day in room. The bathroom smelled like old urine and the bottom of the door was all torn up. It’s right on 6th so I get it, but it should not smell like that. The bathroom is also cramped. The room itself was nice. The music from 6th is loud, but it’s not bad when I went to sleep. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows just turn into nothing under your head. The carpet in the room was… not good. It looked dirty and there was a giant wet spot/stain by the window. Don’t know what it was but it needs to be cleaned. I can’t say I’d recommend this place unless you’re just there to party and crash. The valet people were nice but it was expensive and the only convenient option.

I came in to visit a friend whos staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. The valet Kaleb was super nice and very helpful. I was very impressed with how well They took care of my car. I only remembered Kalebs name because he was very helpful in helping me find some great restaurants to eat at, while im in Austin. Im actually thinking to move over to the Hilton Graden now Just because of how well Kaleb took care of my Ride. Plus he made me feel right at home. Thank you Kaleb I'll be coming back again.

If I were to stay in Downtown Austin again, the Hilton Garden Inn would not be my first choice. Despite having a polite and professional staff (and thus the three stars), there were just too many things wrong with the hotel to show me that they deserve my money. Needing to iron my clothes, I used the iron in the room, only to discover it was leaking and didn't heat. When I asked for a new one, I was told housekeeping was not around but they would 'see what they could do', which was nothing The bottom drawer would not close properly as it contained the room safe, making it impossible to close the middle drawer properly either. Why the safe was not in the closet I do not know. Wanting to give the housekeeping staff a tip, I asked at the front desk for change for a $20, only to be told they don't carry cash. I could either short the staff or overtip. I chose the latter. Elevator buttons that you weren't sure worked, elevator doors that closed as you were walking between them, and a chair that was impossibly low to sit in and had no way to be raised are only a handful of things wrong with the hotel. This is not what one should expect from a Hilton property, and you would better advised to stay elsewhere.

The location of the hotel is fantastic! In terms of cleaning it needs to be worked on! Other than that the staff was incredibly understanding and caring towards my friend and I that were traveling. They made sure the next room we got after letting them know the original was dirty, was spotless! They had a maid check and make sure quality was good! Manager was amazing she’s so kind and even offered a full refund!

Had a great stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown. I especially wanted to recognize the valet staff, Ebrima and Shaheid, for being incredibly helpful, flexible, and accommodating with my schedule throughout the stay. They were always professional, friendly, and made everything very easy and stress-free. Great customer service like this really stands out — thank you both!
