Maximilian Wagner 3 weeks agoFor a 4-star hotel. It was somewhat disappointing. Certainly felt like it was more of a 3-star experience. Breakfast is only available through room service even though they have a beautiful restaurant and kitchen adjacent to the lobby. TV in the room was broken, outlet fixtures and shower also had some problems. Nothing catastrophic, but still... The view, location, and pool were all excellent experiences. The staff was rather hit or miss in their friendliness and competence. For the price point and 4-star reputation, was certainly a bit underwhelming.
Daniel Flint 4 months agoThe Line is aging quickly in a hot area. I loved the view of my room but was disappointed by the furnishings and value. I paid about 650$ for a Saturday night in a river view suite with overnight parking. At that price point I would hope for 5 star service. Instead, I got passive, disinterested staff and an outdated room -- not to mention minibar charges for items I didn't take. I will note the coffee shop on the first floor made a great latte!
Bill McGahey 3 weeks agoThe Good: The service here was phenomenal. We had a couple of disputes at checkout, but the staff resolved them quickly and even followed up afterward. I stayed on the top floor in what was easily their best room in the building with the best view of ladybird lake and bat bridge. The pool area was also a highlight; it doesn't look like much from the outside or from above (it actually looks kind of gross), but it's not, and spending a few hours there was relaxing despite the crowd. Plus, there's a pool bar and you can drink in/by the pool. The location is great- you can get wherever you need to go by walking, scooter, and they have in and out valet if you rent a car (recommend if you plan to explore further parts of the city or outside). The Bad: It was one of my least restful vacations. I absolutely hated the minimalist room design. The beds are on the floor, there are only three small drawers, and there are no hangers—meaning you (and whoever you're staying with) are basically living out of your suitcases with a chair and small ottoman. Because I was on the top floor (or maybe it's just an old building), I was woken up every morning by the grinding sound of the elevator, even though my room was far down the hall. It's also one of the more expensive places to stay. The Weird: To watch TV, you have to log into your own streaming services. They do make it easy to wipe your data (and it clears automatically at checkout), but it still felt strange. I guess it fits the "Keep Austin Weird" slogan! Verdict: Is it a nice place? Truly, it is. But if I ever return to Austin, I’ll likely stay somewhere else.
Gras 2 months agoLoved our stay over all. Highlights were the f&b outlets like the little cafe in the lobby, Veracruz tacos, and room service. The room was decent it did have a weird smell like another reviewer pointed out. I suspect since it's a pet friendly hotel that's where the smell came from, but the view made up for it. The valet was great they were fast and courteous. It was very nice to be able to access lady bird lake in the mornings and come back and refresh after. The lows were the front desk service unfortunately. The service provided there overall was lacking- the people look like they don't want to be there unfortunately and it's like pulling teeth to get information :/. Also if you opt to check your bags they leave it in a corner in the lobby - hardly secure in my opinion. We decided not to leave our things due to this and my partner just walked up and grabbed our things without them even looking up from their stations. The other low was an apparent data breach and so I was continuously contacted via whatsapp, email and text leading up to my stay and during my stay with my full name, reservation details and confirmation number. Other than a confirmation that other guests reported the same- there was no resolution. I froze my card and made sure to not click any questionable link but their security practices remain a mystery.
Madison Bradish 7 months agoMy husband and I hosted our wedding reception at P6 rooftop at The LINE Hotel this past October, and it was truly everything we dreamed of and more. The views were stunning, the atmosphere was perfect, and every detail at the hotel felt elevated and effortless. A huge shoutout to Becky, the Catering Sales Manager, who went above and beyond for us throughout our entire wedding weekend. She seamlessly created a room block link for our guests, making the booking process incredibly easy. The rooms were beautiful, and the RWB in particular was absolutely incredible with its in-suite kitchen, record player, bar area, spacious living and dining room, and breathtaking views overlooking Lady Bird Lake. It made our stay feel even more special. Becky was incredibly organized, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure everything ran smoothly. From the planning process to the day-of execution, she exceeded every expectation and made us feel supported. The food at P6 was absolutely delicious (our guests are still talking about it) and the P6 staff was exceptional. Everyone was so friendly, professional, and attentive, making our guests feel welcomed and cared for the entire evening. We truly couldn't have asked for a better experience and place to host our friends and family for our wedding weekend. We cant recommend The LINE Hotel enough to anyone visiting Austin or planning an event. It will always hold such a special place in our hearts.
