I had a quiet room overlooking the river. It was cosy. It would have been really nice to have had a jug of water in the fridge when I arrived. The tap water was quite hot. 3 cocroach guests in the bathroom were not very welcome. Opted for breakfast elsewhere on this basis. Definitely lower standard than I was expecting.

Wonderful hotel! I needed a hotel last minute. I called on a Saturday night to make my reservation as I was driving. Jay was very friendly and assured me a room would be waiting for me and my family when we arrived very early in the morning. Check in was a breeze and a room was held for us. The beds were very comfortable and everything in the room worked. The flowers and landscaping are gorgeous! A creek also runs through the property. I was made fully aware that free breakfast was not included. However, they do have an amazing coffee machine! Everything was very clean. Nancy made checkout a breeze and was very helpful with recommending a delicious, kid friendly breakfast near by that was reasonably priced. Will definitely be back if I’m in the area.

We were driving all day and half the night and needed a solid place to sleep we found a BW that was easy to find and access. Staff was friendly and greeted us. Location is safe and secure with gates. The room was very clean as well as the beds and pillows being supper comfy. The pool is crystal clear, but could 've used a hot tub and free breakfast. Very friendly staff at the restaurant. Other than that a solid 4/5 at a much more reasonable price that the other hotels.

Our stay here was perfect for us. It was close to two very nice restaurants a walking distance away. The hotel was well managed. We were greeted with smiles and We left with smiles on our face. The staff were Amiable, Respectful, Patient, Knowledgeable and Delightful. The place had free parking, free Wi-Fi and the option of having breakfast there. Parking lot was clean as well as the whole hotel. We will not hesitate to stay there again

What a delightful stay at the Hill House in downtown Bakersfield. Right in the heart of the city, it is next to a fabulous Mexican restaurant. The location also has a gate that makes you feel secure at night. But what was the truly amazing was the hotel concierge, Nancy. She truly went above and beyond in the performance of her duties. She dealt with a difficult customer before she waited on me and I had several 'minor' crises to deal with and she helped me through them with professionalism and grace. The room was a good size, clean and relaxing. Again, the highlight was the service! I highly recommend this hotel and please, give Nancy a raise!
