C. Sanchez 2 months agoLook no further and stay here. We booked here because it's around the corner from the California Theater for La Traviata opera. We were NOT disappointed!! Talk about CLEAN!!! The lot, the lobby, the grounds, the room...everything. The room had a mini-fridge and microwave. The mattress was RIDICULOUS comfy and we wanted to take take it home 😂 The room was spacious and well designed. You get shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand lotion, facial tissues, and there is a hair dryer. Huge TV. The only downfall was the lights aren't too bright for makeup, but there are plenty of windows in the room and restroom for natural light. Not an issue but ladies, we always like to know how the lighting is lol Staff is just as perfect as the hotel. They were so kind and helpful, and great conversationalists. We have zero complaints. Safe area, walking distance to so many places, free parking, and a great price for everything they provide. We felt appreciated 💯 and could not ask for more. This will be our go-to in San Jose going forward. Enjoy!
Mikaela Rios 5 months agoWith all the positive reviews lemme just say how shocked I was at the treatment I got here. We showed up to the hotel and everything is all good we check in and we got a message that our friends needed somewhere to stay for the convention we were attending. So we went back to the desk and asked to switch to a 2 bed. The owner (I assume he is the owner) was kind and understanding and let us upgrade for our 2 other friends. Our friends show up and help us lug everything up to the third floor (I have pots so it's very hard for me to carry heavy things up stairs on top of it being hard to do stairs in general). IMMEDIATELY the owner was at our door and walks into the room stating he needed everyones ID and saying we were lying about how many people were staying in the room. Mind you we barely got some of our stuff which included merch to sell at the convention into the room and we were discussing our plans for when we unloaded everything. I ended up having to argue back at him and immediately head down and move the truck to a nearby parking garage and then proceed to unpack and haul everything from the parking garage to the hotel and standing outside while two people lug things up to the room. The owner then proceeds to sit and stare at us while "walking" his dog. Later that day I needed to go to the room to grab something and had my friends (one wasstaying at the main con hotel and the other was staying with me) walk with me so I wouldnt have to walk alone back to the con and the owner again stops us before we even reached the stairs and proceeded to call me a liar and said that he has a strict no guest policy. I told him that I needed to grab something and that we weren't even planning to stay longer than what it takes for me to grab my items and he proceeded to follow us up the stairs and again pull a fuss saying I was lying and that we needed to pay to have anyone over for any amount of time. First off guests aren't the same as visitors. I live out of state and my friends and I were wanting to just have a chill con experience but this hotel owner made it extremely uncomfortable to go to the room for any reason due to him constantly watching. He lives at the hotel also on the first floor and we noticed all the TVs with all the cameras around the entire hotel. Multiple times while we were there we would catch him watching our room and even stuck his head in when we got extra towels and my friend was deep asleep in her bed which I stood in his way and asked if he needed anything because she's asleep and rather not be bothered. Once he realized we werent really gonna be there aside to have a place to sleep and shower he left us alone. The rooms however were really nice. The beds seem new and the sheets were comfy. The shower water felt amazing and soft which I'm not used to since Texas water is pretty hard. The location is great also. We were able to walk to the convention then walk to get food pretty easily. It was also extremely quiet which was nice. I wouldve considered staying there again on the future but the owner really made a good experience turn God awful. At least you know if you're scared to travel alone as a girl this hotel will always have eyes on you.
Rachelle Holmes a month agoWalked into the office and it smells great!! Clean and neat place with caring staff. I love the room wish I was staying longer. Quiet, with on site parking! Tea and coffee ☕️ 8-10AM I'll be back with my Mom next time, she'd love the room! I give them a 10😊🙌🏻💯
Robert Hughes 6 months agoRooms are fairly nice (newish renovation), with a small sitting area with tv, plus a larger sleeping area with a bigger tv. Aircon/heater is rather noisy on low fan speed. Good bathroom. Bed a bit hard for me, plus I did get a bedbug bite overnight. Lots of parking as it used to be a motel. Area around is getting rather dodgy. Next door is another motel being used for homeless/half-way housing. Generally, this part of San Jose has become rather empty since covid, except when the Convention Center has an event.
G Hughes 11 months agoI have stayed here several times and plan on staying several more in the future. Don't let the location deter you. The surrounding neighborhood might cause concern at first glance, but I have never had any issues and the manager is very on top of things and keeps an eye on any comings and goings. One can tell that the owner/manager takes great pride in what they offer, and in their customer service. I feel like this is my home away from home. The rooms are exceptionally clean and nicely remodeled. I have never had an issue with noise, whether from other guests, or traffic. The location is close to downtown without the hassle of being IN downtown. Easy access from the freeway. There is a great coffee shop/bakery right next door for your morning cuppa.
