Dr. Doeford Shirley a month agoI have been staying at this hotel for many years, on most of my trips to Miami. The trips have been frequent, and their customer service has been relatively good. For this last trip, I want to give a special shout-out: first to Arthur, at the front desk, for his incredibly great attitude and good service, and second to Daysi, at the breakfast buffet, who seems to be there on my every visit. She always quickly recognizes and greets me with her warmth and consistent gentle customer service approach. It is that quality of service that keeps me eating there every morning that I am there. The greatest asset, particularly in the Hospitality Industry, is the employees, and these two people exemplify the quality of that asset and for that, I highly applaud them. Thank you, Arthur and Daysi.
anthony sarnataro 3 weeks agoSoulEdge: Nova Roma part 1 My then German American ex girlfriend once told me this establishment was once a Radisson. Glad the "Golden Testudo Shield Windows Wall" is still in there. Got an email by management to guide me on my arrival. May I suggest to include a current pic of the hotel's shuttle in the email. That way hotel guests can know which shuttle to look for. Due to many shuttles come & go at the airport. And please set up a Google review for the hotel's Impressions restaurant. Such a good looking establishment needs to be praised, not hidden. Arrived late evening, met Hilda at check-in. Then dined at the restaurant, Angelquie (apologies if I misspelled her name, & yes a review will be included soon ) gave good service. Hilda was very helpful during my stay. I was informed that the hotel is being renovated, and it will done by years end December 2026. Ate breakfast at Impressions, good service by Cleo (apologies if I misspelled her name) I do look forward to return. Visit dedicated to my then German American ex girlfriend who looks like Lagertha from a vikings tv show. As she'd say "When given good service. Pay it Forward or Pow right in your kisser (meaning me) and to the Moon lol 😆." Cue in the songs "Breathe" Studio album by Faith Hill and "Top Gun Anthem" by Harold Faltermeyer and Steve Stevens. 🇩🇪🇺🇸🎸🙏 P.S. Nova Roma (New Rome) part 2 will be a review, when renovations are done.
Minion Knight 4 months agoI had a very disappointing experience with the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport & Convention Center, especially from the perspective of hosting or attending an event. Unfortunately, the overall environment did not meet the standards I would expect from a Hilton property. One of the biggest issues was the parking situation. Instead of providing a smooth and organized experience for event guests, it felt like the hotel was more focused on finding additional ways to charge people. The use of a private parking service and the extra costs associated with it created a frustrating first impression for guests arriving at the event. Parking should be convenient and fair, especially for large gatherings, but this setup seemed designed to generate additional revenue rather than improve guest experience. In addition, the property was not as clean or welcoming as it should be. Several areas did not feel properly maintained, and the overall atmosphere was not inviting. The staff interactions were also disappointing, as customer service came across as rude and unprofessional at times. For an event venue, first impressions matter, and this hotel did not provide the type of experience that reflects well on an organization hosting an event. Management also did not appear present or engaged in maintaining high standards throughout the property. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel for hosting an event. The combination of poor cleanliness, unfriendly service, and an overly aggressive approach to parking fees made the experience frustrating and disappointing.
Dr. Crystal Edwards 5 months agoThis has been the WORST experience I’ve ever had at any hotel! The rooms are outdated, the customer service is terrible, and the rooms are digusting. Light bulbs went out, I called to get replacements, they never came. I stayed a week and was told I had to request housekeeping and when I did just to get dirty towels, no one ever came. My mom cant walk so I Uber Eats her food, some days they brought it up, other days hotel staff told them they couldn’t, then told me they, as in the hotel staff, couldn’t bring it up either. Mind you, she is handicapped and can’t walk. The day prior a nice front desk woman brought the food up. So there is no real policy, the workers just choose when to be lazy. So they don’t truly accommodate the handicapped and they decide when they want to be helpful and do their jobs. I called to discuss this with a desk worker downstairs and he rudely told me he didn’t have to listen to this and hung up in my face. DO NOT BOOK HERE, it’s a waste of your time, money and energy. Terrible terrible old dirty rooms and even worst customer service in the hotel.
Kathy Ybarra 4 months agoI recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The check-in process involved extremely long lines, which set a frustrating tone from the start. Additionally, when attempting to call the front desk for assistance, my calls went unanswered multiple times, making it difficult to address concerns in a timely manner. The room itself lacked several basic amenities and comforts. There was no refrigerator available in all rooms, which is a significant inconvenience—especially for guests who may need to store food or medication. The air conditioning did not get cold, making the room uncomfortable. The restroom exhaust fan was excessively loud and ran continuously without the ability to turn it off. The most concerning issue was housekeeping. On multiple occasions, staff knocked on the door well before checkout time. If I did not answer immediately, they opened the door and entered the room without permission. This is highly unprofessional and creates a serious privacy concern, particularly when a guest may not be fully dressed. Additionally, while the coworkers room was still in active reservation, housekeeping cleaned out the refrigerator and discarded expensive medication and food items without notice. This is unacceptable and demonstrates a lack of communication and respect for guests’ personal property. Overall, this stay fell well below professional hospitality standards. I hope management addresses these issues to prevent future guests from experiencing similar problems.
