I rarely leave negative reviews, but my stay at this property was disappointing and fell well below the standards I expect from an Embassy Suites hotel. The room’s air conditioning system appeared outdated and ineffective. Despite running continuously, the temperature never dropped below 70°F, making the room uncomfortable, especially at night. The pillows were extremely firm and uncomfortable. I woke up with significant neck pain that lasted for two days after my stay. The televisions are also outdated and lack modern streaming capabilities such as Netflix, Apple TV, or other smart TV features that have become standard even in many budget hotels. One of the most frustrating aspects was the mandatory $35 per day Urban Fee, which is not clearly reflected in the advertised room rate. While the hotel offers credits toward certain amenities, guests who are not interested in those services essentially lose that money. It feels more like an unavoidable surcharge than a genuine value-added benefit. Parking was another major disappointment. I arrived with a Mercedes Sprinter van and was informed that parking would cost $90 per day. As a result, I had to find alternative parking elsewhere and return to the hotel carrying my luggage. The following day I returned with a smaller vehicle, only to be charged $55 per day, which is significantly higher than what I typically pay at newer and more luxurious hotels in areas such as Brickell. The in-room dining experience was equally disappointing. I ordered food from the lobby restaurant using part of the Urban Fee credit. However, a meal advertised at approximately $24 quickly increased to around $35 after delivery charges, service fees, and other add-ons. The value simply was not there, and the food quality itself was underwhelming. Additionally, the refrigerator in the room was not functioning properly and did not keep food or beverages cold. To be fair, there were some positives. The complimentary breakfast was quite good, with a respectable variety of options and consistent quality. It was easily the best part of the stay. Overall, this property feels dated, charges excessive fees, and does not deliver the level of comfort, amenities, or value that its pricing suggests. I expected much more from the Embassy Suites brand and would likely choose a different hotel for future visits to Tampa.

My recent stay at Embassy Suites Downtown Convention Center was nothing short of exceptional, and it’s all because of the incredible team that goes above and beyond to create a memorable experience. From the moment I arrived, Bob made sure I was well taken care of. He ensured I had a beautiful room with a view and took the time to walk me through the hotel’s outstanding amenities. The manager’s evening reception was a highlight…delicious adult beverages in a welcoming atmosphere made it the perfect way to unwind. The complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast truly exceeded every expectation I had. I was honestly in awe of how phenomenal it was. Ms. Rosa prepared the best omelette and grits I have ever had hands down. I will absolutely be returning just for those breakfast potatoes alone! Each morning, Willy and Steve greeted me with warm smiles that genuinely brightened my day and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Angel also deserves recognition for ensuring my lunch was prepared to perfection. Every detail, every interaction, reflected a level of care and pride that is rare to find. I’ve already booked my next stay for next month because this property has earned a true fan. I cannot wait to return and see the welcoming staff again especially Ms. Rosa, who truly holds a special place in my heart. If you’re looking for a place that delivers not only comfort but genuine hospitality, this is it.

3 night stay. The front desk staff was helpful and attentive. The breakfast was great with lots of choices and made to order eggs. The breakfast staff was great, cheerful (especially for early am) and kept things running smoothly with big crowds. The parking was valet only and expensive. We had no problems other an extended line of cars at drop off one night. Good service from Chandler. However, they do offer parking for non-guests and events and I could see this as a big problem/wait after a concert, arena event or convention. The hotel was in a great location close to everything. However, it's probably time to think about doing some updating renovations. The rooms are getting a little tired. The sofa in our room has seen better days. Looks like there's some water leak damage problems in the top floor roof area. The pool deck area and seating is very limited and small. Housekeeping never cleaned our room the entire stay. They showed up around 4-5pm the first day when my kids were in the room getting ready. They were asked to come back in and hour and we never saw them again the rest of the stay. Whenever, we needed towels, soap, TP, trash emptied, we had to call the front desk or make the trip down to the lobby. They took care of it but, housekeeping should have done it.

We had the good fortune of being accidentally stranded at this location for a few hours while working out some kinks with a car rental reservation. Fron the valet, to management, to front desk, everyone was kind, helpful and accommodating. The hotel is lovely and in a great location. We will definitely plan a stay here in the future.

Honestly my stay back in October 2025 was great. The convenience of staying here, walking to the arena for a Lightning game and then walking back can't be beat in my opinion. Naturally, I want to book this hotel again for later this month when I'm back in town for some Lightning games. But I am absolutely baffled, as I am unable to even though there ARE rooms available. When trying to book 3/25/26 - 3/28/26 it says no rooms are available. BUT I CAN book 3/25/26 - 3/29/26. My attempts at contacting the hotel for help have been wild: - I have sent multiple (3) emails asking for help; no response. - I have chatted online with someone who transferred me to the front desk. That person (Robert?) said I couldn't book that time because of the NCAA Tourney (you know, the one that ends 3 days before I am trying to book). - Chatted online a 2nd time and got transferred to the front desk. No resolution because they were busy (Understandable). - Called the hotel and the reservations person sent me to the front desk. The front desk was unable to help me and sent me back to reservations. - Called the hotel a second time. Got back to the front desk and the person explained that they put minimum stays in place at times to help guarantee the hotel is full. What? Asked if I could speak with someone who may be able to assist; they said there was no one on property that could help me. - Called the hotel a third time and connected with the front desk. They couldn't help me and tried sending me to reservations; immediately got disconnected. - Called the hotel a fourth time and got to reservations. Her explanation was so confusing that I can't even explain it. All I want to do is give you $1800 to stay for 3 nights at your hotel. What a sour experience this has been.
