This was the worst Hilton stay I’ve ever had and really damaged my perception of Hilton having any standards I can trust. The AC was out, which they didn’t tell us until we were in the lobby checking in. It sounded like this was a recent issue by the way they described it, but reading other reviews I can now see that it’s been out for awhile. They should be notifying via email or listing this known issue on their website. That alone would save them the flood one 1 star review I’m sure they’re getting right now. They offered us a comped meal in the restaurant that is under construction and closed. They did give us free parking which at least was something. The staff was genuinely friendly and I think as helpful as they could be given the circumstances. The rooms were clean but very beaten up. Lots of just dents in things and picture frames that were broken, mold in the bathroom. The hot water didn’t work the last two mornings of our stay either. Housekeeping didn’t come the past 2 days, or at least didn’t leave us with new towels or take the old ones. Just tons of little things to add to the no AC. I don’t know what the managers of this hotel are thinking running things this way. And I can’t believe Hilton doesn’t have better safeguards for these kinds of things.

This place is a dump! I am a Hilton Honors Member and stay in a lot of properties, and specifically Double Trees. Upon check in, were informed that there's no AC in the entire building, but the windows open, and they offer box fans. No sign on the door, not email to the guests for upcoming stays, AT Check in. They did offer free cancelation however you're in the lobby. It wasn't that out and nights were going to cool, I decided to stay. No biggie, bar and restaurant are open I'll make the best of it. THE BAR AND RESTAURANT WERE CLOSED! Again, no notification, reason or solution. It's the staff there knew about these issues and refuse to engage the customer. The one advantage this place has is it's pretty close and central in Downtown Minneapolis so going other places was pretty easy. The rooms were run down with cracked lamp shades, and dim lighting. Windows did open but only 4" and no screens. Day 2 - I came back to the room around 4PM and the hot water was turned off (again without visible or verbal notification) it did come back on, but still. Bar and restaurant still closed. Day 3 - I made it. But guess what? NO HOT WATER!!!!!! The water turned on but never got hot. It was around 7am so I can't imagine were starting their day, unless the smart ones all left and went elsewhere. I'm still unsure if they're modeling, repairing stuff or what but this place is a dump! Maybe we'll find out. By the way, the Hilton down the street or The Hilton Garden Inn were much better options according to some colleagues of mine who chose to cancel and rebook. What's going at this property?

Do not stay here!!!! As a Hilton Honors member, I was extremely disappointed and will not be returning to this property and am very unlikely to select Hilton going forward. To begin with, I was not notified ahead of time that the building AC was broken, and from seeing reviews here and on other forums I can now see it’s been several weeks (at least!) since it first broke. It hit 90 degrees during my stay. I was only told at check in, at which point I was unceremoniously handed a box fan for me to transport along with all my luggage. At this point, nearby hotels were far too expensive for me to cancel this one. It was really hot in the room and the box fan hardly worked to cool the room down. I also couldn’t open the windows beyond a crack, and there were no screens so bugs could easily get in. I also saw a nondescript sign at the desk that water was shut off until 4pm one day. Again, no notice, just a sign if you happened to be looking at the hotel desk as you’re walking in or out. Also, I did not receive any housekeeping the second day I was there. The ironing board cover was in disgusting shape so I ironed my clothes on the bed. The lampshades and curtains are in disrepair. Really a sad state of affairs at this Hilton DoubleTree. Avoid at all costs!!!

Nightmare stay. Elevators very dirty. No hot water. No AC. Upon check-in, I was placed in Room 207. There was no hot water — I ran the tap for 15 mins. A technician came to inspect the room, confirmed the issue, and himself recommended I request a room change. At least he was friendly. I was then moved to Room 1118. Room 1118 also took a while to heat up the water but unfortunately presented a second significant problem: the room was approximately 40°C / 100°F. It was hot and humid this week in Minneapolis, and being on a high floor with windows, it made the room feel so much hotter. When I raised this with the front desk, I was told the building has no air conditioning and that the only option available was a fan. The fan provided no meaningful relief, it just circulated hot air. When I told the front desk, they told me to email his manager. It’s been a week, no response.

Air conditioning stopped working throughout the hotel. Instead of offering some kind of alternative arrangements or at least credit me on the price, I was given some bottles of water and a box fan. It was hotter inside than out, and the room was definitely not worth the price even without taking the air conditioning issue into account. Much better options than this, and am shocked that Hilton allows their name to be on such a poorly managed property.
