This was a great hotel overall. We stayed for a wedding and turned the trip into a short vacation. The rooms were modern and spacious, though the bathroom door could use improvement—it was difficult to close securely and kept opening. We were also unable to stream from our phones to the TV. Aside from those issues, we appreciated the amenities. The bar was an excellent place to relax and play pool, and the valet service was quick and courteous. Parking is not free, which was unexpected. We recommend using the valet, as it allows unlimited in-and-out access, unlike the self-parking option.

I checked in on a Saturday evening and out on Monday morning. All in all, the hotel has a cool vibe, clean rooms and decent restaurants connected to the property. The location was fairly close to an event I was working, so it worked out great. 4 stars for the dour attitude upon check in-when I asked for a key card and was told I already received a mobile key. Only to come back the next day to get a key card because I couldn't access the gym with my mobile key. 4 stars also for the lack of choices in the mini market-the salads were a few days old when I got there, as were the sandwiches. The in-room safe was erroring every time I tried to set it. The door just would not close/lock, as if it had been tampered with. TV remote not easy to work or understand the different channels available-I wasn't in the room too long anyway, but I do turn it on once in a while.

Modern styling but has some age. Definitely a hotel that gets a good amount of traffic of people coming and going. The views aren’t bad, you’re right by the water. The hotel rooms are clean and modern, but there’s some signs of wear on doors, carpet, etc. The hotel parking is either valet or in a structure. If you arrive late like me (around 11PM) and leave before 11AM, it’s $20. It’s a bummer they charge over $10 for breakfast (apple, cereal and milk).

As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite member for life and a loyal Marriott guest for over 20 years, I was extremely disappointed with how this property handled a recent situation. Due to an unexpected illness involving my three-year-old son, I needed to cancel my reservation outside of the 48-hour window. I fully understand cancellation policies exist. However, I offered to rebook a future stay directly with the property and was simply asking for flexibility to convert the reservation into a credit rather than incur a one-night $270 penalty. The hotel declined without consideration of loyalty status or circumstance. For a brand that emphasizes guest recognition and long-term loyalty, this felt rigid and transactional. After two decades of choosing Marriott properties, I expected a more customer-focused approach. Very disappointing experience.

I would not recommend any person to book a reservation with this hotel. The communication to reach a staff member and hotel manager was nearly impossible. I had a reservation that needed canceled due to a medical illness and I reached out two days prior to check in date to cancel with a refund. I was unable to get ahold of a staff member until later in the evening and I was told the manager isn't in and to wait til the next morning to get talk with a manager. I never received a call nor was able to successfully reach the hotel manager the next day as well as the following week. I only heard back from the manager finally 8 days after my initial attempt and after a couple voice mails and an email request during the week requesting a verbal and or written response. Waiting 9 days to hear badk fromcthe Aloft hotel manager is unacceptable. To make matters worse the email response was very generic and it was obvious the hotel manager failed to read thoroughly the details of my cancellation policy. The manager said there was no refund policy listed which is either blatant lie on the manager's part or failed to thoroughly read and notice the hotel cancellation policy listed that was bookedvin case of an emergency cancellation. This hotel can take my money for short term gain but they will never receive my business again and I will look for a hotel on Downtown Cleveland that is more responsive and takes to their customers and inquiries a little more seriously and urgently.
