Jennifer O 2 months agoThe staff is fantastic. They were so nice and helpful for the 3 days we were there for a tournament. The hotel is older so could use some updates (old carpet). Safety wise, the doors should be locked on main level and require a key card. Too easy for anyone to come in on the sides of the hotel. Also anyone can take the elevator upstairs. I did see a security guard a few times so that made me feel better but securing hallways is important and not easy for one security guard. Noise—I called ahead after reviews complaining of drag racing and got a quiet room. The drag racing is NO JOKE. It’s at all hours. Add a train going by on occasion and the noise level is significant. Not the hotels fault, but I would not stay here again for noise alone. Such nice employees though! They were so friendly.
Matthew Massey 3 months agoThis stay was completely unacceptable, especially for a Marriott DOWNTOWN property, where there are many other options to choose from for the same price. I was first moved rooms because black debris was coming out of the shower water. The next morning, there was no hot water at all—so I had to take a cold shower before starting my day. Then to make it worse, I paid extra for breakfast and it wasn’t even available at the posted time (6:30am) because NONE of the chefs showed up for work. So after everything else, I couldn’t even get the breakfast I paid for. At this point, this isn’t just “things happen”, this is a consistent failure in basic hotel operations. Clean water, hot water, and available food are not luxury expectations, they’re the bare minimum. I travel frequently (weekly for work) and chose Marriott expecting a reliable standard. This experience fell far short of that, and it needs to be addressed immediately. Front desk and staff couldn’t do anything at such an “early” time in the morning. I would like to be contacted by management to discuss this situation and how it will be made right before I take this to corporate or completely switch brands to hotel that can meet bareminumum standards. David Choi 8 months agoI stayed at this hotel for a work trip and it is one of the more affordable hotels in the area which shows in its amenities and room. The layout of the hotel is definitely interesting. It is hard to describe the layout but nothing is where you think it would be like every other “normal” hotel. My biggest complaint is that the gym seems to either not have an AC or it is broken. It is incredibly hot and stuffy in there. It actually has a decent amount of equipment but the heat makes it impossible to work out. The room is decent and looks clean enough. The toilet in my room kept running in frequent intervals and I couldn’t seem to make it stop. I just put earphones in when I slept because I got in very late.
Jennifer Rankin 5 months agoThe restaurant and bar staff is out of this world. Tara waited on me and Elena assisted… they were more than generous, kind, and I highly recommend having dinner when you’re staying at the hotel. I travel a lot for work and they made me feel so welcome. It’s a home away from home.
dee johnson 2 months agoWe came as a group and we had our own rooms. The room was clean. Staff were friendly. I could not sleep. It is like a racetrack every night. Once it gets dark, people are racing and revving their engine, even on a Monday. The sound amplifies in the room. I know the staff were not at fault. If you are a light sleeper, you will not sleep well.
