As a native of Dallas, I needed to stay closer to the city for a conference and chose The Magnolia Hotel based off of the pictures and Expedia reviews. I checked in and checked out literally within 20 min, knowing I wouldn't receive a refund. The room was listed as a Deluxe Queen Room. Upon walking into the room I noticed how old everything was. The lampshade had a hole in it. The furniture was worn. No comforter on the bed, only sheets. I felt like I was in a motel and not a hotel. The front desk staff was very monotone and unapologetic. There was NO concern whatsoever when I clearly checked in and out in less than 30 min. That was disappointing. I understand being Historic, but this was horrible.

Our stay at Magnolia Hotel Dallas Downtown was very enjoyable overall. First, this is not a knock on the hotel itself, but downtown Dallas traffic is pretty horrible, so be prepared for that when arriving and leaving. The hotel has a classic old-school feel that gives it a lot of character, and the old Mobil Oil décor throughout the property was a really nice touch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful during our stay, which always makes a difference. The rooms were comfortable, well-kept, and the bed was especially comfortable for a good night’s sleep. The room rate itself felt fair for the location and quality of the hotel, although the $50 per night parking charge seemed a bit high. The location worked well for us since there were several very good restaurants nearby, and it provided a quick exit to the tollway the next morning. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with plenty of charm and a convenient downtown location.

🚫Reasons you shouldn’t stay here🚫 -Ac doesn’t work, we set it to 50 and still sweaty, felt like 80.😵 -Bed is literally a rock and when I called for a foam topper or anything soft they said no, we went downstairs and were able to get another blanket which helped.🪨🛌 -There was food wrappers under the mattress?? 🗑️ -Shower was wired wrong so we thought there was no hot water until we figured out you have to turn it twice to get it too hot setting. 🥶🚿 -shower was super rusty 💉 -the shampoo and soap bottles were obviously refilled with water and shook. 😷 -curtains were broken 🚫 -couch had grease stains 🤢 -floor had weird stains 🤢 -It costs way too much for what you get. It seemed cheap online so we were ready for it to be bad (not this bad sheesh) but after all the random fees (destination fee???) it was 190 dollars save your back and time and pay a little extra to avoid this place.

Pros: very very convenient location. Building looks cool. Rooms look very nice and have plush rugs. Pretty affordable in comparison to other hotels. Cons: Nothing works. Elevators are a nightmare. Very old (historic?) building…odd noises in the rooms. WiFi is pretty much non-existent. Shower water pressure was laughably weak.

excellent downtown location. can walk to heaps of locations within 1/2 hr walk or a short uber. deco/vintage old building totaly refurbished. my room had 14 foot ceilings and wood panellign everywhere looked original. absoutely beutiful. staff pleasnt and helpful. Valet was a little slow on occasions, but not a concern. highly recommended. would stay there agan.
