Hanna Nixon a month agoNot sure if the heat is making for unhappy working conditions but Amarillo townsuites has this location beat by miles. Yall should get with them for some tips and tricks bc I thought this place would have been nicer and held to at bare minimum the same standard. The breakfast was a big disappointment coming straight from the amarillo location. The eggs are overly watery, sausage looks half cooked and tasted slightly weird. The orange juice taste off like the machine isnt clean. The waffle station is super basic but even the waffle mix came out funky. Only 2 options for cereal? With such a disappointing breakfast at least more options for cereal would be nice. Oh and the salsa container thats reused had the same crusty salsa on the sides it was clear to me that its just refilled and not cleaned between uses. The location is the best part about this place, It was close to lots of things we did keeping drive time under 20minutes for all our activities. The bathroom was disappointing and had a werid smell. The toilet leaked when flushed we reported it but the towel has been where we left it. One of the towels hanging up looked like it had been used by previous guests. It didnt appear new as the others. The soap was unwrapped and used. But whatever its soap the wrapper was in the trash. There was long thick black hair in the bathtub stuck to the walls but I tossed it out. I think the bathroom fan or vent was also broken. Everything else inside the room was fine. The bed was comfortable. The blackout curtains keep the room chill. AC worked good in the room. Im sure the AC being broken in the lobby where the people here mainly work is starting to cause a moral dip. The people seemed nice and friendly enough but I could see a difference after a couple days. Its hot in the lobby and hot when you fix breakfast. Id say the room cleaning needs some work mainly in the bathrooms and then maitnence because some of the fixes are very sloppy. Location needs an update for the restrooms or at least better maitnence in them it was equal to a motel bathroom.
Kelli Vitale 5 months agoGood stay. Spacious rooms I had a funky smell in my room but it seemed clean not immaculate but clean. Having a full size fridge and microwave was great perk. Location was little less than a mile to get into city nothing around hotel but apartments. Lobby was big breakfast was good. We did get told to lower our voices at night while playing a heated card game in middle of an ice storm. (Nothing was said night before) price was higher for a cheer competition.
Jimi Scott 3 weeks agoMy recent four-day stay at this property was highly disappointing. As a loyal Marriott customer who frequently travels for business, this location fell incredibly short of the brand’s standards. Critical Facility & Maintenance Issues Upon arrival, the lobby air conditioning was completely out, and it remained broken for the duration of my four-day stay. While management attempted to mitigate this with portable rental units, poor maintenance rendered them useless. The staff routinely allowed the condensation reservoirs to fill to capacity, causing the units to fault out and blow hot air into the building. After pointing out the faulted unit to both the front desk and the housekeeping staff and explaining that the water needed to be drained—nothing was done. I ultimately had to empty the reservoir myself while waiting in the lobby for a food delivery. Texas heat is no joke, and it was actually cooler outside than it was inside the hotel lobby. Subpar Dining Experience The complimentary breakfast lacked any semblance of effort or variety. Every single morning featured the exact same menu: watery eggs and basic sausage patties. Furthermore, because the dining area was uncomfortably hot due to the broken HVAC system, eating breakfast there was a thoroughly miserable experience. Lack of Hospitality & Service The staff at this location are entirely unpersonable. Over the course of four days, I was not greeted a single time—not when entering the building, and not when walking directly past the front desk. A simple acknowledgment goes a long way, but the team here lacks basic hospitality skills. Final Verdict: My company has a facility near this hotel, and we frequently bring personnel into the area. Based on this experience, I will be actively instructing our corporate travel coordinators and my colleagues to stay clear of this specific location. Marriott management needs to address these severe maintenance and service gaps immediately.
Matthew Schubert 2 months agoI don’t even think it’s deserving of one star. You should be able to put no stars or half a star. Stayed at this hotel for a month in February. Where to even begin. Park your car early get a spot and don’t give that spot up. Parking can get scarce. Watch out for surprise water shut offs with no notice/ heads up besides a flyer on the front desk counter (I’m talking a full 8 hour 9-5 shut off). Take every offer you can take to get house keeping. Part of your welcome brief at check in will tell you house keeping services provided every other day with a full cleaning every 5th. This is a lie. Had my DND sign on first week of my stay because I don’t require much during my stays. After a full week into my stay I figured it would be nice to get things freshened up in the room. Remove my sign leave for the day come back room not cleaned (no big deal must have fallen on the other day of the every other day they were talking about.) Second day leave for the day. Morning as I’m heading out I chat with front desk just to politely get on the list. Front desk informs me they probably won’t get around to it today either (ugh). But okay ask at least for some towels to be sent to my room at some point while I was away. Didn’t get those either. Third day of DND sign being down they got around to freshening up my room. So every other other day I guess? Mind you I stayed here a month only wanted/ needed my room cleaned 3 maybe 4 times I feel like they could’ve put in more effort to accommodate me. Customer service and clear communication is not their forte though as it took weeks to hear from anyone at this hotel about my issues. And at the end of it they throw you a lousy 15,000 points. Rooms are tired and trash as well. Right by the train tracks like sleeping on the bench at the train station. Beds are about as comfy as that bench as well. Hope you can steer clear of this hotel and hopefully the hotel reads this and makes changes. However they won’t as they still haven’t resolved my issues and the manager hasn’t responded to my email.
Elizabeth J. Muellner 4 months agoThis place is disgusting. I can find nothing positive to say. It looks grimy, worn, and smells bad. The man behind the desk was grumpy and disagreeable. He wouldn’t know how to spell ‘customer service’ if his life were being threatened. He put us in a handicapped room that smelled somewhere between stale cigarette smoke and death. We asked for a different room and he said the rooms were all taken. He never even checked the computer. When I asked him if ours was a non-smoking room, he just grunted “this is a non-smoking hotel”. Bull. Do yourself, your health, and your dignity a favor and avoid this place. Marriott, you should be ashamed of yourself for having your name on this dump.
