This hotel was PHENOMENAL! We stayed in a corner room which gave us an ocean view balcony with chairs as well as a view of the historic Cavalier across the street (their “sister” hotel). The restaurant off of the lobby, TULU was delicious for drinks, dinner, and breakfast the following morning. We will definitely come back in the summer when it’s warm enough to take advantage of their ocean-side pool, beach access, and rooftop bar/grill. The hotel was modern, updated, squeaky clean, and a luxe beach vibe I have not experienced in VaBeach for a while. There was a hotel across the parking lot that was part of their little compound when I needed a few toiletries and Tylenol from their convenience store area. Highly recommend! They even have a zero entry, sand like texture indoor pool that looked very inviting, however, we did not bring swimming attire.

This was my second stay at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront, and somehow it managed to exceed the already high expectations set by my first visit. It is rare for a hotel to deliver such a consistently outstanding experience, but this property has done exactly that. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by a team that genuinely understands hospitality. The front desk staff are welcoming, professional, and always willing to help. Every interaction felt warm and personal rather than transactional, which immediately sets the tone for the stay. The property itself is beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and designed to maximize what may be the hotel’s greatest asset: the endless ocean views. Waking up each morning to the sight of the Atlantic stretching to the horizon never gets old. Whether it was sunrise with a cup of coffee or simply watching the waves from the room, the views were unforgettable. The dining options are among the best I have experienced at any hotel. Tulu and Orion are destinations in their own right. The food was consistently excellent, and the atmosphere at both restaurants made every meal feel special. A special thank you to Noel, Sean, and CJ at Orion, who were absolutely amazing every time we visited. Their friendliness, professionalism, and attention to detail elevated each experience and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. The amenities are equally impressive. The swimming pools are spotless and inviting, and the beach staff do a fantastic job making the oceanfront experience effortless and enjoyable. Everywhere you go, there is a sense that the team truly cares about maintaining a first-class experience. What stands out most is how easy it is to relax here. Every detail, from the service to the facilities, works together seamlessly. By the end of the stay, it felt less like a hotel and more like a place you look forward to returning to. After two exceptional visits in a row, I can confidently say this is one of the finest hotel experiences I have had anywhere. If you are visiting Virginia Beach and want outstanding hospitality, incredible dining, beautiful facilities, and breathtaking ocean views, look no further. This place is truly special.

Some hotels give you a room. The Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort gives you a welcome. Mina at the front desk was absolutely phenomenal. Warm, gracious, professional, and genuinely caring, she made us feel at home from the very first interaction. She is one of those rare hospitality professionals who doesn’t just do her job well—she elevates the entire guest experience. What stood out most was that the same spirit carried throughout the resort. Every team member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and eager to help. The culture of hospitality here is unmistakable. A special shout-out as well to Calvin from We Scream Ice Cream & Coffee Shop, who was incredibly kind and helpful. Encounters like that may seem small, but they are often what guests remember long after a trip is over. Beautiful property. Wonderful people. Exceptional service. Thank you, Mina and the entire Marriott team for making our stay so memorable. Just called to understand the difference between the junior and one bedroom suite because it’s not very clear to be based on the online photos. The person who answered said that the junior suite is bigger. I asked if the bed and the sofa area were all one room for the suites and she said yes. I clarified I’m looking for a room with a sofa that also has a king bed but that there is a door for privacy. She said yes that’s our one bedroom suite and that’s why it’s called a one bedroom suite. I said okay just wanted to double check and she said ok bye and hung up. Really weird conversation.

Unfortunately, upon check-in, we were informed that our room had been double-booked. As a result, we were moved to a different room with a smaller bed and a more limited beach view than the room we originally reserved. This was especially disappointing given that we had planned and booked our stay in advance. The hotel also felt extremely overcrowded during our visit. Elevator wait times were long, often requiring guests to stand in line just to get to their rooms and the elevators where slow to get to the rooms once we got in. It appeared the property was simultaneously hosting multiple large events, including what seemed to be a wedding, prom, and birthday celebration, which contributed to the congestion and overall hectic atmosphere. One smaller critique concerns the showers. The rooms feature rain showerheads, which are a nice touch; however, there is no option to switch to a traditional showerhead. Many hotels offer both options, and having that flexibility would have been nice for me. Overall, while the staff was kind and tried to be helpful, the hotel seemed to lack organization when we asked about amenities, tried to eat at the hotel restaurants and when we tried to attend the hotel hosted activities. Wish it was a better experience for me since I was hoping to treat my partner and I to a pleasant beach hotel stay.
