This hotel is NOT what it used to be when the Capps family were there. Our family stayed here yearly for 20 years and always a perfect stay-free bikes, nice restaurant, heated pool Family owned and run. NO MORE!!! My husband and I stayed there a few years ago under the new ownership. We stayed in September and asked if they could turn on pool heater- that did not happen. Front desk reply was “some people find it refreshing” lounge chairs falling apart. Desk staff horrible. Rooms dirty. Washer/dryer taken out. It’s like they are trying to purposely run this hotel into the ground!! Loved it under the Capps family ownership, now it is awful!!!!!! BEWARE!!!

The Good: Location: Hotel is right off the beach. Plenty of restaurants at a reasonable walking distance. Staff: Helpful, opened the overflow parking lot for us as there was no more parking in the lot right from the door. The Bad: Hotel is old, not very well maintained. Lots of mold and mildew left in the shower and whirlpool tub. Floor is tile and feels wet and slipper when running the AC in the room. Bed is uncomfortable and our shower room's toilet paper holder was hanging on by a thread. Elevator shakes a lot. The balcony rail was loose on one side, we were on the 9th floor, if anyone where to stumble on it they will most likely fall and break their neck. The inside of the hotel is cramped and condensed in the hallways so you are shoulder to shoulder with other guests if you are coming and going at the same time. Parking is a pain, their overflow lot is closed (reasonable) BUT if the receptionist is busy, either they cant open it for you and you find other parking or you wait on them (depending on how busy their check - in is at the time).

The hotel is clean. Has a great location. I had no problem parking. The staff is friendly and attentive. I had a couple minor concerns for the room and the front desk took notes for maintenance. The location is right on the beach with all beach facing rooms with balconies.

Breakers is right on the baech. The rooms and common areas are clean if a bit dated. Our room had a wall fixture with no power (though plenty of other lights). If you're looking for a no frills affordable stay close to pretty much everything...this is it.

The location right on the beach with oceanfront rooms was great, and all of the staff we interacted with were friendly. However, the rest leaves something to be desired. Our room was decently clean. I've had worse but I've also had better. The biggest issue was that the beds were sunken in on one side. It seems a lot of guests sit in the same spot on the bed (right next to the outlet probably using their phones). This leaves a sunken spot on both beds such that they are not flat or comfortable. I woke up with bad back pain from those beds. We also had roaches in our bathroom both nights and rude neighbors who cooked food at 12:30 am. While I acknowledge the neighbors is not the fault of the hotel, they need better insulation on the adjoining rooms. We didn't enjoy the smell of rancid oil starting at 12:30am that took over an hour to dissipate.
