Thu Natalie Luong 2 months agoThe Miyako hotel is convienently located in little tokyo and close to all the shops I wanted to go to. I had the corner room at the end of the hall which was nice and quiet. The bed and pillows are confortable. I did not wake up with a stiff neck like I normally would from staying at other hotels. The room and bathroom were clean. There was no dust on the light fixtures or floating in the air. The cafe had great pastries and iced mocha lattes. It does get busy on weekends so come before 8:30am. The bar on the second floor was small, but the bartenders make great drinks. Overall, I had a nice relaxing stay. If I'm in the area, I would stay here again.
Jason R a month agoExcellent customer service in an unbeatable location. Some of the interior spaces are a bit aged and could benefit from new carpet but other than that the Miyako Hotel is always outstanding. As a bonus, the café in the lobby is also excellent for both drinks and baked items.
Ken Lambert 2 months agoThis turned out to be a terrific choice to stay a few days while going to some Dodgers games. Comfortable room and the service was great. The hotel's location in Little Tokyo was reasonable to public transportation that allowed us to park our car in the garage behind the hotel and not need it until we left. We are very likely to stay there again in the future.
Itt Pamarapa 2 months agoMiyako Hotel Los Angeles, located in Little Tokyo Area on 1st Street, was a well maintained old hotel. There were a lot of Japanese restaurants and attractions in short walking distance. Its rooms very spacious but its lighting system was not so convenient as its separate switches were set individually for each lamp. Amazingly, it restrooms had washlet lavatories which were perfect for Japanese and Asian guests. Its diverse buffet breakfast served at its Japanese restaurant on the 2nd floor was very reasonable.
Stingray a month agoMISSED CHANCE FOR GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE A few weeks ago we arrived very early (3:30 am!) via Amtrak into Los Angeles. We made it to the Miyako Hotel approx. 4:15 am or so. We had reservations for that night, and the night front desk person checked us in, so he knew we were not just trying to hang out in their lobby. This person did not offer us coffee, tea or even water. He did not mention we could use their toilet. We, two senior citizens in our 70’s, sat in their lobby waiting for the Starbucks down the street to open at 6am. We walked down to Starbucks via the Doubletree Hotel. Every single staff person we met at the Doubletree greeted us and asked if they could help us. We pointed out we were not hotel guests but that didn’t matter at all. They showed us where there was water and where the toilets were. Their restaurant opened at 6:00 am and we were warmly greeted. THIS is how you treat people. We were just sorry we had not booked with the Doubletree. The Miyako Hotel over-night front desk person seemed to not care at all about their hotel guests. Imagine letting two senior citizens, who are clearly staying at the hotel that night, sit in your lobby in the early morning hours and not doing anything to make them comfortable. He could even have said, "I apologize, but we don't have coffee/tea making facilities this early, but may I offer you some water?" To be fair, we returned to the Miyako Hotel about 2:00 pm or so and the day-time staff were helpful and friendly and accommodating. The day-time front desk staff, the Tamon servers and the Lounge Ohjah bartender were all terrific
