Hyatt Place Colorado Springs/Garden of the Gods

Location is great - quick access to Garden of the Gods Rd and I-25. Plenty of food and things to do nearby. Spacious rooms too. The views are also great if you have a Mountain View room. The downfall was: - Difficult to get to - you need to go through multiple parking lots to get onto the main strip and there’s no clear direction. Especially when you want to turn left and head toward the Garden of the Gods. - Housekeeping never came to clean our room. We checked in on Thursday PM and checked out Sunday AM. Not once did anyone come to bring us new towels, change sheets, etc. - Breakfast was “meh.” We ate once and the turnover between when the sausage gravy ran out and new was added took quite a while and it was only 8:30 am. The eggs were watery and cold. For some reason, the drop bins for dirty dishes were also right next to our table, but were in a different place the next morning when we were on our way out. Coffee placement also didn’t make sense for those grabbing coffee to go or dine in. Completely different from other Hyatt places that I’ve stayed at. - On Sunday, I checked out at the front desk but waited 10 minutes for the worker to show up. The phone rang a few times and another attendant was also waiting with me. Things just seem “off” here.

While the room was very clean and spacious and service has been great, I absolutely cannot stand how loud the outdoor noise is. I requested a room opposite side of the highway and unfortunately was given a room closest to the highway. It is SO loud in our room and it has been very rough at nights with our baby, regardless of the sound machine we have on. Yes, convenient to be close to i25 and Garden of the Gods but the location it’s in is run down and it’s not worth the extremely loud traffic noise. As a Hyatt member, I most likely wouldn’t stay here again next time I’m in the area.

Marina was super friendly, thank you so much for the early check-in because my husband didn’t feel well. The rooms are spacious as well as the gym. The carpet looked quite dirty in the public spaces. Luckily the room looked cleaner.

The room was much more open and more modern than expected from previous experience at different hotel chains (we used to always stay at Hilton brand until we found out they let ICE agent stay at their locations). Breakfast was also better than we've experienced elsewhere, though it'd be nice to have more hot veg/vegan options available. Kids were very excited the outdoor pool was heated, and I was satisfied with the view (had been worried about it being not worth the room selection based on google reviews - pic is from Rm 417). The only thing I felt was missing was recycling of any kind. Overall, it felt very much worth the price.

The hotel is very clean and modern. The rooms are spacious and clean. The free breakfast is one of thr best I have had at a hotel. Staff are friendly. I would give the hotel 5 stars except for a fire alarm incident that happened at 4 am, then 5 am, and then 6 am onward during my first night. It was due to a water leak, no fire, but disrupted everyone for most of the morning. No explanation or apology provided by hotel staff.
