My wife and I recently stayed at the Intercontinental Indianapolis Hotel, and we absolutely loved it. The hotel itself is beautifully designed. We loved the lobby bar and the live music, and the rooms are very nice. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better either, especially if you’re visiting Indianapolis for something close to Monument Circle. But it was the staff that was truly incredible and really made our stay memorable. I contacted the concierge desk about a week prior to our arrival because it was my wife’s birthday. Quinton was able to help me set up champagne, chocolates, and flowers for her upon our arrival. She was totally surprised and absolutely loved it. Quinton went far above and beyond and made our stay an incredible one. Thank you!

1st stay at the downtown Indy Intercontinental and it was exceptional. The check in service was first rate, the rooms were upscale and had many amenities. The bed and pillows were comfortable. They had two bars on site, the rooftop bar had nice views but was loud and crowded with a younger crowd, while the lobby bar was nice an quiet. The elevators are fast and easy to use. The location of the hotel is right downtown by the circle. I highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed for three nights in a two-queen room through American Express Platinum’s Hotel Collection. While the building itself is older, the hotel has been recently renovated, and the interior felt clean and refreshed. One of the biggest strengths of this hotel was the staff. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. During my stay in mid-March, there was a blizzard, and the hotel provided umbrellas, which was a thoughtful touch. I also had breakfast and lunch at the hotel several times. The menu was not especially large, but the food was good. Breakfast was not buffet-style; instead, guests selected from menu options. The gym was another plus, with a good range of equipment, and I appreciated that bottled water was available there without limitation. On the downside, the hotel does not really offer a proper lobby lounge or common workspace for guests. I was in Indianapolis for a conference, and although there were a few small desks and sofas near the banquet area behind the breakfast restaurant, there was otherwise no real space for guests to meet or work outside their rooms. Soundproofing was also somewhat weak, so a noisy room next door could easily become an issue at night. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay. Especially for those looking to take advantage of The Hotel Collection benefits, this hotel is a worthwhile option.

Everything about this hotel is top-notch. I cannot say enough good things. I first stayed here over the summer with a good friend when we were in town to see a show. As frequent travelers, we were beyond impressed with every aspect of our stay; the service, food, rooms, etc., were absolutely amazing. I just booked a group of rooms for myself and friends this upcoming weekend, and I can't wait to return. If you're looking for the best hotel in Indianapolis, look no further!

Its interesting reading the other reviews about the service from this hotel. In part, because the hotel also knew I was staying there for a birthday trip and nobody acknowledged that in any way or offered an upgraded room for me. They seemed to prioritize groups of people. Nobody at the hotel front door helped me open the door or helped me with my stuff. Someone did hold the elevator for me though which was helpful. The valet was nice and got the door when I came back that night from dinner though. Aleah at the front desk was very kind and answered some questions later that evening that I had. My room was fine for the price though there was just a random razor blade cartridge in front of the front door. The bathtub also had quite a bit of pink mold around it that prevented me from using it. The sink as well had mold underneath the rim. I did like that once you went up to the room floors it was quaint and cozy. There was some noise from the street (I think) where it seemed like a truck was idling and BLARING music so loud that i couldn't believe anyone could sleep through it. If you are special somehow (through rewards and such) they probably will treat you nicely, however if you're just a regular person splurging then it could be quite lackluster and maybe even better at holiday inn.
