Clay Caligur 2 weeks agoHad a wonderful experience at Olive & Ira’s. The food was excellent, and the cheesecake was especially delicious—definitely a must-try! Monique was a fantastic server who was friendly, attentive, and made our meal even more enjoyable. Great food and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back!
Caleb Doyle 4 weeks agoIt’s a generally fine hotel with some truly bizarre policies and standoff-ish staff. We pulled the bed covers down to discover there was no fitted sheet on the mattress. So it went comforter, top sheet, another loose top sheet, mattress pad. Called down to the front desk where Izzy cut me off multiple times stating their hotel DOES NOT USE FITTED SHEETS??? I’ve never been to a hotel that just throws a loose sheet on the mattress. Holiday Inn Express uses fitted sheets. Motels use fitted sheets. What’s more, the 2nd top sheet had a bloody booger caked on it. Tried to order more clean towels at about 2pm after a long, sweaty day outside because we noticed our towels hadn’t been replaced. Were told that housekeeping was currently washing all towels and we would have to be added to a “list” to wait for fresh towels. So every single towel in the building gets washed at the same time?? This seems impossible. Had to wait about 2 hours for fresh towels that should have been there in the first place. Late night Saturday wedding reception was bumping dance music until late, courtyard funneled echoes of noisy guests up to rooms. Decide if you want to be a wedding venue or a hotel for rest. Great location!
Glenna Nellis a month agoThe one good thing about my stay was Sam, a waiter in the restaurant, and one of the bartenders whose name I didn’t catch. They were SO kind and helpful and I observed them going above and beyond for multiple guests. They gave me a great dining experience and kept checking in to make sure everything was good while we waited for food. However, other than the kind servers at the restaurant my stay was not very good. I spent all day traveling and at check in the gentleman working the front desk was short with me and very unhelpful. He never explained any of the amenities the hotel provides and acted as if he was annoyed to give me directions to where the parking lot was located. Once we got up to the room it was apparent that the cleanliness of the room was not what I expected. There was dust on the different shelves/desks, the carpet felt gross under your feet, and the curtains were dusty and stained. Everything else seemed okay until I went to take a shower. There was hair stuck to the walls of the shower from whoever stayed there previously. Right next to the soap dispensers at eye level so it wasn’t hidden. The next morning before I left for the day I stopped at the front desk and asked to have housekeeping come by and clean the bathroom again. I specifically told the gentleman that there was hair stuck to the shower wall when I got in and I’d like the shower cleaned. He mumbled an okay and said he’d let housekeeping know. When I got back to my room that night the hair was STILL there. It’s clear that housekeeping is not properly cleaning the rooms and everyone I encountered at the front desk was some variation of unhelpful and rude. On our last day my rooms smoke detector went off for a couple moments. I called the front desk to make sure everything was okay and they didn’t seem concerned whatsoever. No one came up to check and make sure things were okay and the desk clerk brushed me off. There are many other reasons for the low rating… I tried calling the desk earlier in my stay and no one ever answered, they cancelled the shuttle service (a big reason I booked here) and never notified me in anyway, the tv didn’t work, and the windows were behind furniture and impossible to open and close every day. I do not recommend this hotel due to the lack of cleanliness and the unwillingness of the staff to assist guests. Photos included of the hair on the shower wall and the dusty and stained curtains.
Stacey Wall 3 weeks agoQuaint old hotel in downtown Omaha. 20 minute walk to Schwab Field. We stayed in 2022 and 2026 for CWS. Things have changed. In 2022 you could bring your dogs downstairs to the bar area and there were several staying there. Made it extra fun for dog lovers. Now you’re not supposed to leave them alone in your room (I came to the CWS) and you can’t take them downstairs (other than coming and going). Ours were the only dogs I saw. Got back from the game last night at 9:30 and the bar was closing. Did I say it was CWS week? Stayed open until midnight in 2022. No breakfast our last day because “the cook didn’t show up”. Poor service stars are because of different rules. Staff was very friendly.
Drake Baer and Michael Cadden a month agoThe only part of Omaha that is appealing architecturally and by vibe is the old market section. This very cool hotel would be perfect if it were 2 blocks away and within the edge of that area. As it is, a short walk brings you to brick streets, astonishingly good restaurants and outstanding coffee. A 30-minute walk allows you to circle through much of the Old Market area. There was plenty of cheap street parking in front of the hotel during my weekend stay. This was a very good value using Chase points. My room was in fine condition, and I had no housekeeping issues.
