Jennifer Allen 3 weeks agoMy family had a wonderful overnight at the Marriott Marquis Houston. The hotel was completely sold out and we weren't able to get an early check in, but the front desk was able to check our bags and provide me with a key to the concierge lounge (due to my titanium status). We game planned and decided to Uber to the Houston Museum of Natural History for a couple hours - it's an amazing museum. Upon return to the Marquis our room was ready so we changed and headed directly to the pool. If you go to Texas, you have got to float around the Texas shaped lazy river at th Marquis. The kids loved it, I loved it, and the other pools had picture worthy city views of Houston. I was upgraded to a corner suite and I found it to be one of the most extravagant rooms I have stayed in to date. The bathroom 🤩! Not sure if you could see into the windows, but I didn't care. Shower had great pressure to note. We ate at Biggios for dinner and absolutely loved it. For a family of four (little kids) we ordered the brisket nachos and chicken strip platter. We devoured everything and us parents enjoyed the beer and drink selection. If you are in town, or even if you are local, I would 100% recommend the Marquis.
Ariel castro 3 weeks agoThis hotel is very large and offers beautiful views of Discovery Green. I really enjoyed the convenience of having several restaurants and bars on-site. The highlight of the property is definitely the pool on the 6th floor, which alone makes the stay worthwhile. The hotel has the potential to be a true 5-star experience, but it falls short when it comes to attention to detail. For example, my bed was not made to the standard I would expect from a hotel of this category. On the positive side, the hosts and front desk staff did a great job welcoming guests and providing a warm farewell. Overall, I had a pleasant stay, but I believe a little more focus on the small details would elevate the experience from very good to truly exceptional.
Kelley Wohlfahrt a month agoGreat hotel overall. The rooms were excellent, the service was grea5! The Texas-shaped lazy river is a really cool feature, but lining really needs to be redone. My biggest complaint is the lack of an adults-only area. For a hotel of this caliber, there should be a dedicated space for adults to relax. The area by the bar, or the turf section could work? Marriott really needs to create an adults-only zone. There were simply too many kids in the pool area. They are everywhere and in every space. I'd definitely stay again, but adding an adults-only area would take this hotel to the next level! Excellent staff but kids everywhere.
Roslin E. 4 months agoMy husband and I had a fantastic stay at the Marriott Marquis Houston. The entire hotel is spotless—every space feels fresh, clean, and well maintained. We loved how many dining options there were on-site; it made it easy to enjoy great food without having to leave the property. Our room was absolutely lovely: comfortable, modern, and perfect for relaxing after a long day. The service throughout our stay was excellent as well. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our visit enjoyable. One of the highlights for us was the huge rooftop pool area. The pool itself is impressive, and the hot tub and outdoor reclining spaces made it feel like a true getaway right in the middle of the city. It’s the kind of rooftop setup that makes you want to spend the whole afternoon unwinding. We’d happily stay here again. It was the perfect mix of comfort, convenience, and great service.
Karla Melendez a month agoCheck for grammar and flow: The service in this hotel is phenomenal. I have never been accomatated at these level before. The staff here is emphatic and really cares about the experience of the customer. From the moment we arrive the valet was on it. They open the door, ask if we needed any help with our bags. I planned a 30th surprise birthday for my sister but we werent quite ready and needed more time before she left the spa sessio at the hotel. I explained this to the spa employees and they offer to stall her by offering the use of spa amenities and mimosas. They even gave her a birthday gift. Which gave us enough time to surprised her. She was really surprised. The service at the pool was slow. It is a large pool so I can see why it's challenging for them to be everywher. I did have to waive down a server everytime I was out there but for an order but once attended the service was great. The views of the rooftop were nice. The lazy river is really cool. It did rain on us all day so we went down to the pool once it stop raining around 7pm. We asked if we could check out later without a charge. They gave us a complimentary one hour late check out. Which we really appreciated because we didn't get to enjoy the pool during daytime due to the rain. Once we check out we explained our situation about not being able to enjoy the pool on the day of our arrival. Once again they accomatated us and gave us day pool passes for the day that rain of us. The hotel has a skybridge connected to the George R brown convention center. Which is really convenient because it was raining outside and we did not want to get wet walking to the restaurants that be access through the convention center. I would definitely stay here again. Nice place for a staycation. Your review is strong and detailed — I mainly corrected grammar, flow, word choice, and readability while keeping your voice and experience intact. Revised version: The service at this hotel is phenomenal. I have never been accommodated at this level before. The staff is empathetic and genuinely cares about the guest experience. From the moment we arrived, the valet staff was attentive. They opened the door and asked if we needed help with our bags. I planned a surprise 30th birthday celebration for my sister, but we were not quite ready and needed more time before she finished her spa session at the hotel. I explained the situation to the spa staff, and they kindly helped stall her by offering access to additional spa amenities and mimosas. They even gave her a birthday gift, which gave us enough time to surprise her. She was truly surprised and loved it. The service at the pool was a bit slow. Since it is a large pool area, I can understand how challenging it may be for staff to be everywhere at once. I did have to wave down a server each time I needed something, but once attended to, the service was great. The rooftop views were beautiful, and the lazy river was really cool. Unfortunately, it rained all day, so we were only able to enjoy the pool once the rain stopped around 7:00 p.m. The following day we asked if a late checkout could be accommodated without an additional charge, and they kindly gave us a complimentary one-hour late checkout, which we really appreciated since we had missed out on enjoying the pool during the daytime due to the weather. After checkout, we explained that we had not been able to enjoy the pool on the day of our arrival because of the rain. Once again, the hotel accommodated us and generously provided complimentary day pool passes to make up for the lost time. The hotel also has a skybridge connected to the George R. Brown Convention Center, which was extremely convenient since it was raining and we did not want to get wet walking to restaurants accessible through the convention center. I would definitely stay here again because the service is phenomenal.
