We recently stayed at The Laura Hotel in downtown Houston to celebrate our wedding, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. When we mentioned we had just gotten married, the hotel kindly upgraded our room, which made our stay even more special. The staff was consistently polite, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. As a thoughtful touch, the hotel also brought complimentary glasses to help us celebrate, which we really appreciated. The room itself was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with a very relaxing atmosphere. The shower had plenty of hot water and great pressure, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, everything exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely choose to stay here again the next time we visit Houston.

Hotel was beautiful. Basic room with king sized bed was comfy, as far as hotel beds go. Shower was very neat in that there was a set of folding mirror doors beside the bed which opened to a glass wall into the shower. Pillows were nice. No mini fridge and microwave by default, but think they can be requested. Room was on the 20th floor and had a lovely view. There's valet parking and self parking, it was approximately $75 and $20 respectively. The valet system was slow, didn't get the text confirmation until 11am the following day (just before checkout). But the attendants were very helpful and friendly. Bar was open until midnight on a Saturday night, served great drinks. The biggest downside was that we arrived at 4:45pm on Saturday and had to wait in line for nearly 30 minutes to check in. There was only one person at the desk. We did receive a small glass of wine while we were waiting, but as we had an event to attend, the delay was frustrating.

We've stayed here a few times while visiting family, and this will be the last time. We've only chosen this hotel because we typically have special offers for it through our credit card, and I'm understanding why they're offering promotions. The last time we stayed here about a month ago, we were missing towels and glasses, and it was nearly impossible to get ahold of anyone to help. We had to call about a dozen times and wait minutes for no one to even answer the phone. We tried going downstairs to get things ourselves, but when we found someone they asked for our room to bring it up. We waited about an hour, and we ended up using the single hand towel we had to dry ourselves off and splash water into our mouths from the sink. We also left that morning around 10 and returned to get ready for dinner, and still no one had come to our room to replenish anything. We ended up having to leave our room so that the cleaning crew could come through so that we would finally have towels. We ended up being late to an event because of this. This time, our room is incredibly musty and honestly smells terrible. There's no fridge, but there's an empty cabinet for one - very weird. The room configuration is the most bizarre I've ever encountered - most of the space is just an unusable hallway. There are no drawers, the outlets are so close to the bed I can't get my charger plugged in, there are a lot of damaged furniture pieces (cracked and broken doors and cabinets), light fixtures that don't work. I'm sure at some point this hotel was nice, but those days are definitely gone.

I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough!! Great room and service- especially in the pool bar. Tristan and Demont kept us drinking and happy the whole evening- God bless those men! I will be back 10000% when I’m back in Houston and I hope those two men are here as well!

My suitcase was stolen out of my hotel room. Called over 20 times various days to get in contact with management on locating my suitcase. They reached out 3 weeks later that they’ve been busy. There was valuables in my suitcase that can’t be replaced and were important to me. They refunded my stay and let me know any internal findings would only be shared with the police department after a warrant was served. Something sketchy and shady is happening here. They were semi apologetic but again unsafe to stay and the communication was terrible. DONT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED
