I previously stayed at this hotel and rated it five stars. During that visit, I stayed on one of the upper floors in a King room. Upon my departure, I booked a future stay—scheduled for two months later and lasting five days—via the Booking.com app. I did so in the hope that the hotel manager would honor his promise to assign me the same room, or at the very least, a room on the same floor, as I had been thoroughly impressed with the accommodation, and the price listed on Booking.com reflected that standard. However, upon my arrival today, I was surprised to find that they had prepared a room for me on one of the first three floors. When I informed them that I wished to stay on the eighth floor—or at least on one of the higher floors—they told me that this specific room was what my Booking.com reservation entitled me to, and that it was the only option currently available. They were completely dishonest. The front desk agent claimed that my previous stay on the eighth floor had been in a room with two Queen beds; however, when I surprised him by presenting my previous invoice—clearly demonstrating that I had, in fact, stayed in a King room—he was visibly displeased that the truth had been exposed. I urge the management—specifically the Manager or a Supervisor—to contact me to correct this mistake. When a customer places their trust in a person or a venue, that trust must be met with a corresponding sense of responsibility. Furthermore, there must be honest individuals staffing the front desk. Quite frankly, you do not deserve a five-star rating whatsoever—nor do you deserve even half a star. I cancelled my reservation and went to another hotel—all, of course, due to the dishonesty of the reception staff. They truly do not deserve the business.

Room was okay, but needs updating. Shower leaked the entire time and soaked bathroom floor (possibly need shower curtain liner). AC goes down to 66⁰ but the room barely felt cool. The pool area was gross, dirty and dark. All employees that we interacted with were super friendly and helpful and hotel location is wonderful.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Visiting Virginia Beach for the second time from Charlotte, NC was even better than the first, and Ocean Resort made the trip absolutely unforgettable. Each visit just keeps getting better and better, and we already can’t wait for next year’s trip back! The location was perfect, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the beds were extremely comfortable. There’s honestly nothing like waking up to the sound of waves crashing right outside your balcony. Our oceanfront balcony view was beautiful and made every morning feel peaceful and refreshing. A special thank you to Ebony from maintenance, who went above and beyond during our stay. He responded immediately to correct an issue we had, handled everything professionally and with kindness, and even took the time to check back afterwards to make sure everything was still perfect. That level of care and customer service truly stood out and made us feel valued as guests. It’s rare to find employees who genuinely care about the guest experience the way Ebony does. Because of him and the rest of the team, I would absolutely recommend Ocean Resort to anyone visiting Virginia Beach!

Was excited for a weekend getaway with my children, and I checked into the room. We noticed a terrible smell, reported the smell and nothing was done as everyone seemed to be too busy to assist us finally after we had a guest come visit who confirmed that the smell was also unbearable and we were not overreacting. We search the room to see where the smell was coming from. It was found there was old spoiled, milk, or cheese or something seeping out of the refrigerator and soaked into the wood spent the next six hours trying to remove the smell with bleach as I was told there were no more rooms available and I was stuck here or it was sleep on the beach as most of the rooms were booked for Jackalope festival reported the issue to the front desk and management have been chasing the half of my money they agreed to give back which was also unacceptable as I’m in about nine hours of wasted time and my service call rate is $100 an hour have been in person Called booking and the hotel and booking are giving me the runaround every time. This is a private owned hotel so beware because there is no checks and balances and all of my years staying in Virginia Beach. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.

The three stars for service are all for the front desk. Everyone there was fantastic. Housekeeping did not even enter our room during our four day three night stay to so much as to empty the garbage cans. My room floor looked like it had not seen a vacuum cleaner in weeks. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable and the none of the six pillows matched. The fitted sheet on my bed was inside out. Not a big deal but shows the lack of attention paid to the rooms. The place is right on the ocean, with great ocean views from every room, and does have an indoor swimming pool. Although I would think twice before entering that swimming pool. If you're looking for a cheap oceanfront hotel, you'll find it here, but that's exactly what this is, a cheap hotel.
